shepp
New channel I get on dish network. I just watched a pretty moving show called "weediquette" the episode title is called "stoned vets", it made me pretty emotional. The show interviews a few vets one who hasn't used weed to help him but is in a horrible amount of drugs from the VA that don't really help him, the next was a guy who was insane because of his ptsd and uses and then a few others. Found it very sad, I wish they'd do more for these guys than throw pain killers and anti psychotics at them, the one guy said they throw all this poop at me and they won't even give me some one to talk to?!? Wtf!!! on a side note from that I listened to a very interesting pod cast of Joe rogan's with a guy from the MAPPS institute, they do tests on ptsd victims (not only vets) with psychedelic drugs and they're making great head way with it. I hope the government pulls their heads out there asses and realize that when they ban this poop years ago they made a big mistake.. jtallen83
The real background to why pot was banned had more to do with the cheap fiber aspect and racism rather than the actual drug. Mr. Hearst owned huge tracts of timber and did not want the competition that hemp fiber brought to the paper industry, he was also a racist; http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijuana-illegal/ http://www.ozarkia.net/bill/pot/blunderof37.html I say if you put your life on the line for this country then you can do any drug you choose but then I am a firm believer in personal Liberty and responsibility, the founding principals of this nation and what made it great. is it 4:20 yet? Yup refer madness and also the war on drugs was started by Nixon to give them a way to go after hippies and anti war protesters. I listen to Joe rogan a lot he is a smart person who does his research and interviews people who also know their schit. he is very pro weed pro psychedelic drugs, I've learned a lot listening to him. jtallen83
Just now, shepp said: Also some big wig (I forget who) had his mitts in the paper trade and fought to get hemp outlawed because it was threatening the paper industry, and along with it the took down weed. That would be the William Randolph Hearst mentioned in the articles, he owned most of the paper production, print media, and politicians of the day. jtallen83
Pot is a great sleep aid!
blue109
I've done a fair bit of research into psychedelics...for both scholarly and recreational purposes. Before it was banned by the entire world, LSD showed amazing results with heroin addicts and alcoholics. It forces you to REALLY look at yourself...unfiltered. most people will never know what that feels like. Its both horrifying and supremely enlightening. Yep the founder of AA used psychedelics and when he confessed to it they exciled him from the program he started. Also been speculated as to where a lot of religion comes from, I mean why would Moses see a burning bush if he wasn't trip'n balls right?? blue109
Aldous Huxley wrote a book about the connection between religious experience and hallucinations, wether it be drugs or even just fasting. Called heaven and hell. Interesting read.
