Having recently installed two Rough Justice triggers into my rifles, I now have two complete trigger groups sitting on my bench doing nothing. It's appalling just how bad the stock triggers have become, so what can I do about it? Does anyone make a jig to smith these stock triggers and bring them into some semblance of respectability? Even better, anyone want to show me how to smith these triggers? I've polished one trigger group using a Dremel and rouge. It didn't do much.

Most stock AR triggers have a very thin hardened layer, once you polish on them they go downhill fast. I sell my extras on ebay and then put the money towards a real trigger. Maybe you could send them to be treated again but odds are that expense would be prohibitive.

  I agree , I won't touch one !

A couple years ago I sent a Remington 870 ( new ) Trigger pak to a well known Trigger guy  ( because I had never done one ) & it lasted about three years ( Only used for Gun Season ) before the Hammer sear folded over & the Slug gun when off while I was on a Deer Drive . The AR Trigger is as bad or worse then Remington's .
