hi fellows,

anyone have any info on these "new" rifles? looking to buy an inexpensive 7.62. i have an 2 Armalite ar10`s ( 1 A-series & 1 B )

but would like another one for just playing around w/o the price tag of a good one. i really have not seen very many reviews of

this rifle & it does not seem like i can find any online yet. del-ton`s site gives you their supposed dealers but a call to a few of them

only got me as far as "we don`t have any right now". if you guys have any information you could share on availability or quality

of these it would be much appreciated.  thanks!

I can't speak on anything about the functionality of Del-ton rifles, other than I have heard they work well....but I can say that I prefer a rifle length gas system on any 308AR, rather than the carbine length they put on theirs.

For that neighborhood of price range...try this:

http://www.apfarmory.com/apf-308-carbine/

From the description of the Del-ton rifle on their site, there is alot of the same features shared, with a few upgrades (as I see them) on the APF. I like the rifle length handguards, rifle length gas system,  free float barrel; just to name a few.

Standard disclaimer; I am NOT affiliated with APF in any way, just really like their products and service.

do you know if they do smooth-round aluminum free float hand guards on their rifles.

i took a look at a couple of them from your link. i don`t really care for the long railed 3-gun type hand guards.

do they shoot 1 moa or less? price is not too much of an issue. willing to spend around 1800 +/-

but i want match accuracy. i do long range matches out to 600+ yds. i have an armalite ar10t that does fairly well

for me now but i want something better.

I know they will put on anything you want for furniture.

Their handguards only have the fixed pic rail on top, the other 3 rails are easily removed if desired.

As far as accuracy goes, i have never punched paper for groups with mine.  i shoot mine with irons, and it is capable of more accuracy than I can hold to.  They are fitted with match chambered barrels, and (I believe) their barrels are Kreigers...but don't quote me on that.  I can hit 1/4 chunks of clay pigeons with ease at 110 yards (back of range berm), and do that all day if I can hold still...the gun has no problem hitting exactly what the irons were aimed at when the trigger is pulled.

Just from my experience,  I am confident in saying one of theirs should be able to get the job done. If your are looking for a match rifle, they do have upgraded models available,  and will put in whatever parts you want inside one.

LOL..I'm quoting you on that.  Anywho, I emailed them and asked.  They use ER Shaw barrels...at least for their 6.5 CM.

Good thing that I don't rely on my memory for too much.......:nutkick:

:laffs:

I was working at the time I was on the phone with them, and all that I can remember was that is was one of the "good ones" as far as I remembered.....and Krieger seemed to "stick" better in the muck inside my head better than any other names.......
