n2Jesus
started building my son's ar-10 tonight. We began putting the bolt catch in place but he was having trouble getting the threads started on the pin. So, I removed the catch and put the pin in by itself. It threaded most of the way and then the edge of the allen head broke off.I have tried a pair of needle nose pliers to back the pin out with no luck.Any ideas? Thanks. Robocop1051
Can you attach a pic so we can fully understand what's going on?
RayGun19
What about using some Rockset and a spare Allen key. That stuff is ridiculously strong. If you get the two to join, and use slow, even pressure, you may be able to get the pin out. If you have a burr on the threads, it may be time to see an armorer. survivalshop
Try a thin pair of Hemostats ,like used in surgery & try to grab the pin where the catch would go & turn it out. The hemostats can be locked into a possion. Might take a bit of time ,but should work . You did say you put the pin in with out the catch .I have two broken pins from DPMS & won't use them again . SI Defence has them in S/S & you can have them mail them to ya, in an envelope , insted of shipping .
