edgecrusher Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 so i went to one of my local gunshops today, and as soon as i walked in a 16" scar-h was thrust into my face as soon as i walked in. i guess they know me too well. :D. anyway before i decided on getting my pws earlier in the year that gun was a viable option, until i found it did not use proprietary sr 25 mags. anywho, i found the gun to be extremely front heavy, tall down the upper, and the stock to be a little big in the butt….plate, incase anyone was interested.
Madhouse Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Well, that's what the H is for. :)You're right on though, I handled one and they are indeed nose heavy.
JMoto Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 I have shot the scar heavy and found that the front weight really helped keep it controlled during mag dumps. The weight in the front along with the relatively slow rate of fire made it a breeze to shoot. If I needed a 308 full auto, the scar h would be a great choice for me. In semi, I see no need for it personally. It is light over all so i think they made it front heavy intentionally, but that is just a guess
edgecrusher Posted June 8, 2011 Author Report Posted June 8, 2011 i'll never have a full auto where i live, so it really seemed to ruin the semi gun
JMoto Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 I do not plan on owning any class three weapons, so I certainly would not be a dealer. The scar would have to be a dealer sample since it is post 86. My dealer is a class 3 dealer so I get to play with some of the cool toys.
edgecrusher Posted June 9, 2011 Author Report Posted June 9, 2011 fun times, there are no such places up here, but the misses and i are going to arizona in october to visit her dad and plan on visiting the scottsdale gun club.http://www.scottsdalegunclub.com/index.php?option=com_rentals&view=category&id=6&Itemid=17
