Johnsonjf
I have a few AR’s and I have noticed sometihing with them that I have not seen before. I’ve spent many years in the military and never saw this on any of our M4’s or AR’s. I have found some small o-rings on the ejector spring on my newer AR’s. Can anybody give me some information concerning why this is done and what benefit these o-rings offer. Thank you, Jeff
FreQRiDeR
I believe it helps keep the crud and brass shavings out and helps prevent it seizing, since most people never clean theirs properly. Lol
jtallen83
Also supposed to help spring life by containing it, the armalite kit even uses a plug inside to further contain it. Not a metallurgist so I cannot adequately explain this feature.
98Z5V
More spring tension on the extractor - that's where they're at, around the spring. Never seen one on an ejector spring before.
jtallen83
Totally missed that, only ever seen the O-ring on extractors so that is what my brain read.
