Tripledeuce Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 I'm just wondering how many of you have read some of the "old Classics" of gun books. Stuff like Hatchers Notebook, Pope and Manns " the bullet flight from powder to target? Towsand whealan , or Greeners , just to mentiomn a few. Respectfully Terry
Tripledeuce Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 days, and 29 views, and NO_ONE has read any of these??????? No wonder so many people are re-inventing the wheel. Terry
planeflyer21 Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 lol I've read all but Hatcher's Notebook but it was so long ago....More recently I've been into the up-close and personal, being reminded how much I like and admire Fairbrain and Sykes. I would've liked to have met them very much.Jon
Tripledeuce Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 I never met Fairborne or Sykes, But Rex Applgate had a very inflated image of himself, much like Col. Cooper. You couldn't hold a conversation with the Col. You listened while he lectured.LOL!! Hatcher was a very interesting person. At one time or another in his military carrer, He was in charge of both Springfield and Frankford arsnels. He did many interesting things, one of which was co-inventing" the 35 Whelen, which he named for Towsand Whelen. Respectfully Terry
Tripledeuce Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 My apoligies. Spelling and dyslexia don't do well together. Especially when one is as computer illerate as I am. Unless the spell check is really well marked, I usually miss it. respectfully Terry
unforgiven Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 I thought Col Rex Applgate's"Kill or be killed" was good read.
