Ironwolf34 Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 so im ready to buy a buffer tube. I want to put the Magpul PRS buttstock on this beast so is there a certain buffer tube i need? and what are oppinions on a hydraulic buffer? if i do go hydraulic does that just go in with a stander spring?
MikedaddyH Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 If the buttsock SAYS mil spec get a milspec buffer tube. If it SAYS commercial get a commercial buffer tube.Cant help with the hydraulic buffer I dont use them.
edgecrusher Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 the prs uses a rifle length tube, i would go with a buffer from clint, really good stuff http://www.heavybuffers.com/
Guest LLArms Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 If you have a DPMS LR-308 your stock components will work just fine. Basically anything that is a fixed stock is probably good. Adjustable (length) stock probably means carbine buffer.
Ironwolf34 Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 talked to a guy at brownell's.com and he said that for the 308 im buying the a1 buffer tube (meaning its for a ar15) but im putting the different buffer and spring in to fit that PRS ? hope this is right cuz that what i ordered.
Ironwolf34 Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 Not to fit the prs but the bigger spring and buffer for the 308
imschur Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Yes an AR-15 tube with a 308 Rifle length spring and 308 rifle buffer.
Ironwolf34 Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 k..... thanks. I was a little nervous about it
