Guest LLArms
One of the things we were screwing around with.If this is a bench rest only rifle - is there any particular reason I should go with a Monopod vs. a Bipod? The Bipod in the rear seems to offer a much more stable platform and I can fine adjust the elevation on fairly easily. Granted its not as elegant as the Accushot PRM's quick adjust, but I'm not in combat. What say you?
98Z5V
The only drawback might be grip position, going aorund the rear bipod. <dontknow>
Guest LLArms
Believe it or not (at least on the one I have) the bi-pod does not interfere with hand placement or trigger control. So besides that one thing; Any other reasons why I would want to use a mono-pod vs bi-pod? Robocop1051
It's an interesting concept. I don't know about others, but I learned to shoot precision with my off hand tucked under the stock. I think my arm would be in the way of those legs. On the PRS, w/o the monopod, I grab the textured area of the stock and balance on the bottom of my fist. With a monopod attached I grip the pod itself for support. edgecrusher
It's an interesting concept. I don't know about others, but I learned to shoot precision with my off hand tucked under the stock. i also tuck my arm under, even with the mono, simulating a sandbag, because A. who's got those in the field? and B. with the bipod up front it's rock solid as a platform.using the bipod in the rear is an excellent idea. <thumbsup>
Guest LLArms
Yes normally I shoot with my off hand cupping the bottom of the PRS and using minor finger movements to fine tune elevation. With the bi-pod in the rear its completed unneeded. All your body is needed for at that point is:1. Pull the trigger.2. Body mass to prevent rearward movement of the rifle. With this setup I bet I could fire with great accuracy while holding up an American Flag in my off hand up in the air.Sounds like a youtube ideas. lol
