Matt.Cross
I know that there's a difference in gas tube length between Armalite and DPMS type gas systems, but are there dimensional differences in the gas blocks themselves with regard to the location of the gas port? (It's so hard not to say gas-hole...LOL)My reason for asking is that I'd like to use a Noveske Switchblock on a DPMS-type barrel. I know I'll have to use the correct gas tube, but will the gas port line up in the gas block?

Robocop1051
Due to the varying sizes of gas holes, the hole in the gas block is designed much larger. I often describe it to people as putting a bucket over the drain in the sink. That's why your gb doesn't have to be 100% straight to function. Piston systems are a little different. The only time I'm aware of a gb being for a specific rifle is for the SASS barrels.
Matt.Cross
Well, that makes me feel better. I guess one could hypothetically build an Armalite-style around the gas block if it didn't work.... ;D
