Got the email today. 1 week not bad for a form 4. I'll go pick it up tomorrow.

1 week for a form 4 is outstanding. Mine have spanned anywhere from 6 to 14 months over the years.

300bo 8" pistol w/subs 1st rnd pop but after that it does pretty well. I can hear the buffer and spring going back and forth.

16" 5.56 w/55 gr fmj it's kinda loud but my ears aren't ringing.

I'll try the 300 win mag and the Grendels latter this week.

Appreciate the reports.  Hope you get a chance to try it out on a .308.  My question is does it work well enough to be safe to shoot without hearing protection in a hunting environment.

In a hunting environment yes. I'll try the others latter this week when it warms up. Snowing right now.

OK got to shoot my 308 w/the A10. 147gr ball 16" Balastic Advantage barrel. No hearing protection. Didn't hurt my ears and even w/1st rnd pop was pleasant. Much better than the 5.56. The 5.56 was OK but this is better.

6.5 Grendel w/the A10 is a little loud but my ears were not ringing after 10 shots.

Would be OK for hunting but any more than that and ear pro would be a good idea.

Finally pulled the trigger on a suppressor for my .308s.  Went with a Resilient Jolene S.  Since I plan to hunt with it, I wanted light and short as possible, with enough suppression to be hearing safe.  This is 8.3 oz, 6.75" and about 26 db reduction at barrel from what I can deduce through interweb research. $650. More heat tolerant than some other grades of titanium.  But definitely not a high round at one time device.  We'll see how it does after I get done with the Federal redtape waiting/tracking game.

Kind of different process for me this time.  Bought online from Silencershop.com.  All forms filled out online and fingerprints done at an automated electronic kiosk at a local gun store which is affiliated. Bought yesterday, fingerprints and documents submitted today.

I haven't tried purchasing that way yet. My local dealer has a  fingerprint  scanner. So it's all electronic form4 .

Should have had the can 2 weeks ago but distributor sent the can to the wrong FFL.

Finally got to spend some quality time with the Tikka w/ the Jolene S.  Took a bit of trial and effort to find a factory hunting load that performed to my liking.  But eventually found that Nosler 165gr BT resulted in < .65" 5-shot groups @ 100 yards.  Good enough for whitetails. Afterwards, reviewed the cleaning procedure for the Jolene S (which performed as expected).  Basically, you're supposed to weigh the can every few 1000 rounds and if it gains more than 2 oz in weight, you soak it overnight in Breakthrough suppressor cleaner.  So, no maintenance after a 100 rounds other than to weigh the can and note it for future reference. Currently 8.6 oz on the digital kitchen scale.

Ultrasonic cleaners are cheap. Just toss it in there every once in a while.
