seagiant
Hi, I was having trouble with my bolt latch and when I took the screw out to look everything over, it just crumbled to pieces. Does anyone know the screw size for this. I have a lathe and I'm thinking of getting some headless allen screws from ACE and making my own. Thanks

seagiant
Hi, I went to ACE and got some 1/2" 6x32 set screws and trimmed one down and it works but I'm going to call SI Defense and get some SS ones! Thanks!
98Z5V
Ask them to mail them to you USPS - alot cheaper that way. I know why you buy them from their online web store, the shipping is about $12, by default. <thumbsup>
IM_JOHNNYV
Do yourself a favor and call to order the screws from SI Defense and ask them to mail the screws in a padded envelope or you'll end up paying $12.00 shipping. The screw size is 6-32. Drill a 7/64" hole and thread 6-32. You'll have to make extensions for the drill and tap or you can get the aircraft length drill and the extended tap from TruCutMFG.Forgot to mention, only open the back side of the hole to 7/64" and thread the hole so that the screw sits flush to about .010" below the surface of the threaded boss.Hope this helps....... unforgiven
That dill/tap combo is genius, but you don't put that on handheld drill motor right? <dontknow>

I have seen many done with a hand drill and they come out perfect, but that's just not my style - my 2¢
unforgiven
I know I couldn't do it,I would snap it for sure. That would be best as a machine tool as I know it would be more your style brother. :)

98Z5V
The DPMS .308 lowers come threaded, and with a screw - the screw is weak, and you have to be careful with it, but they all come that way. <thumbsup>
