planeflyer21
Well I did some reloading on a Lee Handpress this week. Just really didn't feel like setting up the bench (we are TIGHT on space, so it comes apart and folds).Loaded up 200 rounds of .45 Colt, CCI LPP, Starline Brass, and the MidwayUSA's "blemished" 300gr JHPs that MUST be Hornady XTPs, sitting over a mild "Ruger Only" load of 18gr of Lil' Gun.These are going to be used primarily out of our Marlin 1894 in .45 Colt, with a 16" barrel and cut down stock...this baby is short. Not much longer than some of your AR pistols. <laughs>These will also be used out of the Bisley Blackhawk Convertible on occasion (though it usually eats .45acp).Now for the light mount.Jon

My Brother Planeflyer21, I reload 45 Colt for my 1894 Winchester. I have LIL'GUN too & Starline brass, poop loads of it. I have loaded a lot of those 225 gr FTX bullets, XTP's & I have a LEE mold. we have a few buckets of lead wheel weights <thumbsup>I've been using 2400 for the .45 though. The LIL'GUN and H110 I use for my Model '94 in .44 mag.I have often thought about getting a ruger black hawk or better to go along with the .45 lever gun.Anyway this is cool.... planeflyer21
The loads in Lil' Gun stomp ass!I choose a lot of loads for pressure or, rather, a lack of it. To get the same velocities as H110 or 2400, Lil' Gun is producing like 1/3 LESS pressure! Some kick ass voodoo black magic.I use it in .357 Magnum also, the "Papa John Load" (guy from a different forum), 15.5gr LG under a 158gr JHP/JSP. THWAP!!Some people have reported frame cutting using LG in revolvers but I have yet to experience any evidence of it. Admittedly though, they are shot mostly in rifles.I want to get a custom mold that was marketed by Ranch Dog, a Lee TL290 RNFP .454 mold, that many have had great success with out of leverguns.I've also been flirting with the idea of cutting the brass down to .45 Scofield length, to get more ammo in the magazine. One dude detailed converting his Marlin 1894 to shoot .45acp, and can get a crap load of ammo in the magazine!Jon
MikedaddyH
You could call your new load .45FBI lite ! <laughs> :hornet:
