It will work... but it is only a slight upgrade from a mil-spec trigger. You'd be better off with a complete trigger assembly. This build was for a friend, so I built it to his preferences...

Here is the installed Mega Tactical Trigger in a billet, ambi, NiB coated Mega AR15. I used the trigger with a WMD NiB hammer and a WMD NiB disconnect.

(It also has a WMD NiB Bolt and WMD NiB Cam, in a Melonite treated AA Piston Conversion)

The total price for this trigger assembly was about $120.... He could have had a MUCH better trigger for about $50 more.

The trigger breaks smooth enough, but it still has quite a bit of creep and is much heavier than I prefer. I do like the feel of the more robust trigger, and that it is a single stage. The complete NiB coated system is EXTREMELY smooth.

Well, I absolutely hate the factory trigger, so a replacement is in order before I even go to sight it in. Suggestions (that are currently in stock and under $175)?

For that money, Geissele SSA.  A few bucks more will get the SSA-Enhanced (SSA-E) which is a full pound overall lower in trigger pull (4.5 SSA versus 3.5 SSA-E). Both are 2-stage triggers, and it's not a pound-each in the stages - hit Geissele for the pull-weight specs.

My two cents.

I had a CMC trigger on my 5.56 DPMS and loved it! Unfortunately he is incredibly backordered... I spoke to him right after shot show and had a great conversation for about 35 minutes.
