moopey Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 I know I'm pretty new to the forum, and I don't know if there are a lot of group buys that go on here, but I figured I'd post this just in case. I'm also a member northeastshooters.com. Recently a certain agency has taken interest in the group buys and in one member in particular. This member has had to retain a lawyer because of this. Follow the link below for more information. http://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/general-discussion/211422-neser-needs-your-help.html
survivalshop Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 If there isn't an issue , you can be sure they will find one .
moopey Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 I have not heard exactly what the issue is. Hopefully they just want to make sure no one is bypassing the system. Whenever a group buy is done for a lower someone collects the money, sends it to the vendor/manufacturer, and the vendor/manufacturer sends the lower to a FFL for them to handle the transfer.
Robocop1051 Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Sounds like a non-FFL was playing middleman... And taking more involvement than he should've. I only group buy through FFL's.
jrtMA Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Every so often I'll look on NE Shooters for the forum and classifieds but am very careful of some of the buys there. I've heard of other issues other than this one.

Should only the FFL handle the money and actually place the order? When I order my .308 lower I placed the order with the manufacturer and they shipped it to the FFL. The group buys seem to work the same way, only on a larger scale. The middle man never receives the lowers.
