Damm!t. I didn't think you knew me that well. My wallet is already hurting but it "may" be on my hit list. After handling the new HK MR556 A4, SCAR 16S, SCAR 17S, and Canik Prime Radian last week, I think at least one kidney will need to go very soon. No immediate need for a mount.

@98Z5V I was looking into Vibra-tite. I like the sound of it and don’t mind spending a little more. I’m always picking up something new here. Is VC-3 a good option?

I recently had a conversation with a very knowledgeable source who mentioned armorers he knows have been recommending purple 222/222MS over blue 243/242 loctite for handgun optic screws? I may have completely missed the boat and not paid attention on this front but are you seasoned optics people using purple? I’ve recently had issues with screws walking out when blue is used. Curious if there is really that much of a difference. I didn’t see anything on the forum from a quick search. Thanks.

Great minds think alike! Exactly what I bought. Similar results to the Ranger Precision triggers but I went with WWG. Just installed it and haven’t shot with the upgrade but there is a clear difference. I’m guessing the stated 3-3.5 is accurate. Their ejector did not fit though. I was scraping metal for 15 minutes and just went back to original. The bolt would not fit back in. I also see why people complain about disassembly and reassembly with the Marlins. Holy sh!t that return spring is an absolute nightmare to get back in place. I crazy amount of pressure is needed.

Thanks. Those sights are nice. I’ll give them a closer look and PA is always a winner in my eyes. I ran a box through her the other day. I definitely need some kind of optic. Just have to get use to the stock irons for the time being. Gun, upgrades, and ammo have me in for $2k so far. I bought a new trigger, stronger ejector, and aluminum mag follower. Trigger cuts it down to 3.5 lbs from what I’ve seen. I’m happy with that.

Thanks. They’re suppose to be better for aging eyes. I think that’s solid advice. I don’t see much of a point going out beyond x6 for what the rifle is but that’s just personal preference. Just found a company that does a different style +6 “quiver” for the stock. Ranger Point Precision is on the handguard now. I could easily move to an extra 18 carry without going nuts on the handguard 🤔

Any optic recommendations for my new Marlin? I think a prism scope might be a good direction. This will only be a fun range gun for the time being. Little to no experience with lever actions but had to scratch this itch for some reason. I’ve wanted a 45-70 for a while now. Any other advice is welcome.

I tried a Chef Jose Andres’ egg recipe and loved it: Whip egg with a spoon full of mayo (full-fat), pinch of salt and pepper, butter for greasing, and little Parmesan. Microwave in a very small bowl or cup for 45-60 seconds. The mayo keeps me from making it daily but I love it.

I’m jealous. Maybe it’s best I don’t live over there. I’d be broke from ammo purchases.

I think I watched every video Youtube had for it. Some decent videos of it stacked up against some bigger price tag rifles and it held its own. I agree about the upper/rail design…the BCG was another big selling point for me

Good to know, thanks. I’ve bought a dozen or so different boxes to test out when the time comes next month. The barrel/DD consistent quality and price had me. Prices are getting out of hand from some competitors. Mil Spec+ is their name for it. Wish they offered some of their AR15 colors for it but I thought it was pretty nice and worth a little extra tacked on 😆👍

My moment of weakness. A Bergara Premier or Tikka T3x were in play but I’ve wanted a DD for a while. Time to start saving again 😂

Thanks, I think so. An Athlon mount just arrived today and I’m about to drop another $200 on caps, bubble level, and throw lever 🤦🏻‍♂️…might as well at this point 😆. Going to give MK Machining a try for that stuff.
