BigP623
I bought a few tracer rounds at the local gun show today and on one of the cases there are some weird protrusions evenly spaced all the way around the neck of the case. Is this normal or safe to fire in any way? And what are these marks for? I attached a pic to show what i mean.
blue109
Looks like an out of battery catastrophe waiting to happen.

BLKSHEEP
WTH, I'd pull the bullet & dump the powder just to make sure it never goes bang. Makes a good conversation piece though.
survivalshop
Tracer round ? Them dimples are right where the cartridge head spaces , interesting . I think I have seen this before , just not sure .
blue109
Found a pic of brass with holes where your dimples are. Someone said its a round to use in a trainer. The brass blows out to lower pressure. Maybe?? http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=6&f=42&t=251087

blue109
I would keep it on a shelf! just put some tape or something on it so there's no mix ups. Its pretty interesting. I posted it on some other forums with no answers.
