Crackerbacks Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 does anyone know when DPMS changed the specs on their low proflie upper? Is there a way I can measure mine to see what I have?
imschur Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Someone posted the dimensions.I would look if I wasn't on my phone.

motorwerks Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I really hate DPMS for this..... carry on.
Crackerbacks Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 So do I!!!!! It's a pretty sleazy way to force people to buy their rails. When is enough $$$ enough.
motorwerks Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I wouldn't bother with a DPMS upper mostly because of this. I have been looking at Fulton, and Si defense. Both will work with a DPMS or DPMS style lower, and are old rail height....... and in my opinion they look WAY better. Tactical machining is supposed to have an upper out SOON but they had some trouble with their machinist (hes since been replaced) so they are playing catch up and haven't gotten them out yet.
imschur Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Keep in mind though if your using a FFHG without a top rail it wont matter
Bfalcon00 Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Yeah I made that mistake when I ordered a DPMS upper and didn't realize the heights had changed. I ended up going with the DPMS FF just for that reason. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth really.
guessta Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah, I made the same mistake ordering my rifle without knowing about the A3 height difference. My buddy ordered right before I did and also bought a 13.8 Troy battle rail at the same time. when he put his rail on is when we found out about the diffrence in heights. Kinda upset me. Now i am limited to the type of rail i get. PRi GenIII is what I'm leaning towards. Any other options?
imschur Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 there is a topic for this with pictures here
