blue109 Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Price is getting better... http://www.botach.com/products/kley-zion-armors-ar15-m4-barrel-spline-socket-rod.html
Toolndie7 Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 I still don't see the use in these, other than maybe putting on or taking off a muzzle device. And even then there is no need to be that tight. If used on a barrel nut you are putting all that torque on the pin and slot in the receiver.
blue109 Posted March 4, 2014 Author Report Posted March 4, 2014 Agree, just throwing it out there. I'd grab one if I had cash to burn just to have an extra tool around.
FaRKle! Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 If used on a barrel nut you are putting all that torque on the pin and slot in the receiver. The the loading of the indexing pin is only dominant till the barrel nut is tight enough to where the friction between the receiver face and barrel extension flange takes over, which is pretty quickly.
cantshootafish Posted May 22, 2014 Report Posted May 22, 2014 I'd like to see them drop another $10, but if I had to remove a properly tightened barrel nut I would feel much safer using one of these.
