Guill732 Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 Saw this price and thought I should share. http://aresarmor.com/store/Item/TACMHDM8
greenmist Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 Nice! 2 will not comply shirts ordered...
Guill732 Posted April 19, 2014 Author Report Posted April 19, 2014 Just got it in the mail. Looks pretty good. a few machining marks to polish out on the exterior. Matches up nicely to my DPMS upper. Can't wait to start working on finishing it. Will upload pics later when I get some free time
Guill732 Posted May 16, 2014 Author Report Posted May 16, 2014 Sorry it took so long to get around to posting pics
Robocop1051 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I never understood.... why pay more for an 80%? You can get a finished aero precision lower for less than $80.
BigP623 Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 Maybe the no serial number and ability to get it shipped directly to their homes is why...I never understood either
Guill732 Posted May 19, 2014 Author Report Posted May 19, 2014 AeroPrecision only makes AR15 Lowers from what i saw. These are 308 AR, DPMS Style Lowers.
PasoGunner Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 For me in KommieFornia it's worth it to do an 80% lower. DROS fees, tax and all the other crap makes lowers not cheaper. Also being able to build it myself so Gov. Moonbeam can't take it is an added bonus! I would love to "Escape CA" but my career makes that very dificult. Until I escape 80% lowers are the way to go. I've done 6 AR15's on 80%ers and am milling my 1st LR308 lower from Ares Armor as soon as I receive my Fulton Armory LPK!

Now, see - for some reason, I thought you were from the El Paso, Texas area. I had no idea you were from kalifornia. I have NO IDEA why I thought that... <lmao>

You can get a finished aero precision lower for less than $80.Late to the party again -- the few FFL's around here that will handle a transfer generally want about $40. That pushes the price up to $120 (plus shipping?) A QD308 (DPMS compatible) 80% from Quentin Defense runs $99 (plus shipping), and the box comes with an abbreviated blueprint showing just the work that remains to be done. If one has adequate tooling (I have an MD30 "bench" mill) then no jig is required. There's also something to be said for the satisfaction of DIY and getting exactly what one wants.
