gnatshooter
As noted earlier, the point of replacing the receiver was, of all things, to make things compatible with the front sight. Here is a picture of TactiCat inspecting the front sight, after it's been readjusted during bore sighting. You'll notice the sight has been moved rearward from the muzzle. That is to adjust the visual proportions of the front blade where it sits in the notch in the rear leaf. TactiCat obviously approves. gnatshooter
Does Tom know you have his cat ? It only looks like it, that's because the cats are related. 42d cousins, 1,947 times removed. Or thereabouts.

gnatshooter
That is a whole lotta p u s s y. Sheesh. Okay, there's a story behind that. See, we took in a lot of stray cats from relatives who were moving into apartments, and they couldn't take their cats along. We live on a farm, so of course, we got the cats. And as cats will do, they make more cats. I have the impression that cats really enjoy making more cats, because that's what they did. And then we were hip-deep in cats, which is not as bad as being hip-deep in alligators, but, even so, the critters do tend to eat a lot. So we're taking all of these cats, and their offspring, over to the veterinarian for being 'fixed". They take female cats on Thursday, and males on Friday. Well, TactiCat went in on a Thursday, Just seemed to be that sort of cat. We get a phone call. Turns out that TactiCat is actually male. So, as it turns out, TactiCat (this one) was totally black-ops incognito. And he's totally got mouse-foo going on. We had a mouse on the kitchen floor. Tacti-Cat moved fast after it, which is hard, because it's a tile floor, there's no traction there. Our two dogs, both German shepherd mix, scramble after the cat. They love it when a cat runs and are totally all over it. TactiCat ignores the dogs, gets whooped into the air by TactiDog1, and comes back onto the ground, with the mouse firmly in his teeth. Mouse dies, dogs get cussed out. So even if TactiCat's gender was mistaken due to his covert skills, he totally did cat-foo on that mouse while two 80-lb. dogs were interfering with TactiCat's area denial. So, HE is one heckuva cat, anc certainly certified as able to assess modifications to an LR 308.
