  1. I thought I'd check out the reviews for Gummy Bears at Amazon...........lmao!!!! It's for real. And the reviewers are giving Gummy Bears 5 stars!! hahahaha!! I think they want to share their varied experiences. lol!!
  2. Hey it's not that....really B), we're just trying to help you out by taking it off your hands <lmao> .
  3. 15,000 lbs of .308 brass? Do you want to be my new best friend?
  4. I learned that lesson today (and a little humility). A week back I shot a itty bitty group, and I thought I was dialed in, let me tell you! So today I go out with the *same load*, and groups were 1.5 to 2.0 moa. The only difference? The brass, which was mixed.
  5. I've been picking up all once fired rifle brass at our local ranges, keeping the .308 and 7.62x51, and trading the rest of the brass off (trying to anyway) for what I need.
  6. Correction --- It was at 40gr of 4895 IMR (not 41gr), I was getting 3 out of 5 rds with cratered primers, using CCI #34 primers, my COL was 2.780 with the Sierra 165gr HPBT Game King. Also while reading NoFail's range test thread, seating depth and pressures came up. So I thought I should come back and mention, my COL was 2.780, using Sierra 165gr HPBT Game King. For me groups start to open up as I go past that lenght. Have not chronographed this load, but I'm thinking about 2450fps
  7. Thx, but a lot of credit has to go the rifle, an lr-308, 20" free floated barrel. It's shooting much, much better than my deer rifle.
  8. Thanks for posting that Sierra info. I've shot that 110gr HP out of a 300 Savage, and got similar groups. That 110gr HP is accurate, and fun. I think I've got that Sierra 165gr HPBT Game King dialed in for my rifle @ 39gr of 4895 IMR, CCI #34 primers. At 41gr of 4895 IMR, I was getting 3 out of 5 rds with cratered primers. The groups also closed up when I dropped the charge. And I think I'm getting that whole firing between heart beats down. See attached pic, was shooting off of sand bags. And that is the best group I've shot since I had that 300 Savage :) . I never should have sold that rifle :(!!
  9. And I was using 42gr IMR 4895, with 147gr FMJBT Win., and 150gr FMJBT Hornady, but am currently backing off that because of cratered primers. Go figure.
  10. LOL!! I feel the same way.
  11. No, didn't have any of the lips on fired cases deformed or ripped off. And I've never fired any steel cased ammo in the rifle either. Maybe the extractor had to work harder than normal when the rifle was new and got stressed? I was having some FTE when new. I did end up running a bore mop 15 secs on low (chucked in a drill) with polishing comp. Never had another FTE after that. About the steel DPMS mags, DPMS said they'd replace the extractor no prob, but wouldn't exchange the mag. Not even for a 5 rd mag :( (darn it), was hoping to get one of those for hunting, seeing as how this rifle is much more accurate than my 700 Remington.
  12. It seems a bit pricy at $59.95, but it looks like I'll be getting one. thx
  13. It was one of the steel mags that came with the rifle, and they have been known to have issues.
  14. No, I didn't drop the bolt on a round already in the chamber. But, now I know not to do that, thx.
  15. (fwiw and info purposes, feedback welcome) After about 500 - 600 rds the claw sheared off my extractor. This happened while I was using the steel mags that came with the rifle. I was again having feeding problems with these mags (the P-mags work great). The fired case was fully out of the chamber, but with another round jammed up underneath it. That happened twice, then the extractor claw sheared off, is there a relation? I had read about these extractors failing before, and had a spare on hand. DPMS is replacing the broken extractor, great customer service there. Ammo was PMC 147 gr FMJ-BT. Are there better extractors out there?

I think anybody that posts here is on a watch list. And I believe we are NOT near the bottom of said list. With 17+ trillion in debt, 40+ million Americans on Food Stamps, increasing food prices, a widening gap between the rich and the poor, and all the corruption in Washington, I'm sure TPTB are watching these boards. There is nothing that upsets TPTB more, than Constitutionally minded people like you and me, owning a hi-cap rifle, and a few hundred rds, or more, of ammo. It just tears them up inside, and that is truly one of the small pleasures in life. ::)
  17. Classic, hahaha!
  18. I guess you'll be slumming with the rest of at the local sand pit, ey? :)
  19. I think so too.
  20. ey, thx for the link.
  21. DPMS didn't blink and eye when I asked them to replace the first FCG. They were real good about it. They told me to send in just the FCG. I'm sure they'll replace this one too. That hammer looks like it was already fractured when I got it.
  22. It looked to me like it was already cracked when I got it. Why else would it have a bright and shinny surface on one side that looks like a fresh break, and what looks like a coated/dull surface on the other? There were no more than 30 rds on this trigger. These are reloads; 42gr, 4895 IMR, 150gr FMJ-BT Hornady, 1 MOA. Don't think that's hot, no over pressure signs. Comments? It broke on a dry fire. Trigger before this one was two stage, came with the gun, and when new had a nice clean break. The break disappeared completely. Was looking at, or "feeling", a single stage trigger at a local shop today, might go with that.
  23. Stock two stage trigger from DPMS. Came out of a LR-308. This is the second trigger in this rifle from DPMS that failed. I'll be sending this back for a new trigger. I'm thinking of buying a backup trigger, and I want to keep the price around $100.00. I'm thinking of the following from Midwayusa Del-Ton Two Stage Combat Trigger Assembly AR-15, AR-10, LR-308 Small Pin .154" Matte . Any other suggestions? But, I would like you guys to take a look at the two faces of the broken parts and tell me what you see. Thanks in advance.
  24. thx
