  1. I'm not a gunsmith, but that sounds like it could be a bad thing. Right? I'm happy DPMS was responsive.
  2. @Wash, Thanks for starting this thread! @CACI, Nice rifle, thanks for the pics and updates. Anyone know how many AR 30-06's are out there in the world?
  3. I'd be interested in an AR in 30-06. How common is that caliber? lol!
  4. The rifle is from DPMS complete. I've installed the new trigger from DPMS. About a two and a half week turn around, not bad at all. I've tested it at the range, and all is good. Another issue had developed about the same time the second stage disappeared. It bothered me even more than the second stage going out. After firing, the bolt would chamber a new round but the trigger wouldn't reset. That would happen about 3 to 4 times every 20rds. At first I thought the round wasn't going fully into battery (all factory ammo), but the forward assit would not move the bolt forward at all. I think somehow the hammer rode the bolt forward to end up resting on the firing pin without firing the round, and the trigger is not reset. HA! Riddle me that!! :D
  5. Update; LR-308 Classic, free-float tube and a 2 stage trigger. When I first got the rifle you could clearly feel the second stage, and you could tell when the trigger was going to break. Later the second stage disappeared, and you couldn't feel it break at all any more. The trigger was just a very, VERY light trigger, and no second stage at all, no "break". I think that is why it doubled. I called DPMS and they said to just pull the trigger out, and send it in and they'd replace it. 3 weeks later I recieved the new trigger and installed it. I can clearly feel it break now. I'll report back after I test it at the range.
  6. I open carry in my small town in NE North Carolina, mostly on Fridays when I do payroll, which is mostly in cash. Although, I did clear it with our Police Chief and explained why (it's a *very* small town). He said as long as my shirt doesn't conceal the handgun in any way, I'd be fine. I also notice the owner of the coin laundromat always carries when he collects from the washers.
  7. LOL!!
  8. @unforgiven, "You put in the equipment the homeowner won't pay. Can't remove equipment [laws on their side] and you lose you'r ass." Exactly. At this point we are thinking of getting the full payment up front, or in escrow, even for the smaller jobs.
  9. Rural eastern NC. My boss is a contractor and is always busy. Unfortunately the quality of workers and jobs has declined since 2008, and not recovered. Housing here is still weak, the boss thinks it could get weaker. Lately it has taken longer, and gotten harder to collect final payment. Some malls have noticable vacancies (4 to 7), although, I have seen a little new commercial constrution in those same towns. I manage, and own some rentals. In the last 2 months 80% of rents are now behind, and vacancies are up. People are moving back in with family. Honestly...I'm waiting for the next financial crisis to try and buy more real estate.
  10. As most here are aware, the MSM will not talk about the black on white crime that has been going on for years now. All the mob attacks, the knockout games, and the flash mob attacks on stores. Most all of which are carried out by black youth. The following site keeps up with a lot of that http://topconservativenews.com/ Beware, this site is labeled as racist by the SLPC and others. I also ask everyone here to PLEASE judge a person by their character, and not their skin color. peace
  11. The way you guys are talking, I think I'll go back to the local pawn shop that doubles as a gun store. They had a small pallet with 308 on it. It was PMC 147gr FMJ-BT at $14 per box of 20rd. It only does 3 to 4 MOA, but it's brass for reloading too.
  12. I've got the rifle pulled into my shoulder. I'll work on that follow through. thx guys
  13. I came across the following posts about doubling from ar15 dot com. I had this happen to me twice out of about 350 rds (new rifle, FTE issue seems to have worked it self out). I wasn't even sure the rifle had doubled the first time. Both times it happened in the prone position. And if I remember correctly, I had been using a light pull with just the tip of my finger on the trigger. It's really annoying, and embarrassing. LR-308 classic, 4 rail free float, two stage trigger came with the rifle as ordered. "I have a new LR308 had it about 3 weeks now I installed a Jard trigger in it when I first got it did all the function tests it passed no problem take it to the range sighting in and then plinking a little and it starts double firing not every time maybe once or twice in a mag but it is very annoying as I am trying to work up a good load and it doubles there goes that group!!" "...the DPMS LR-308 stock trigger is horrible, so I was looking to change it out. The guys at DPMS told me NOT to use Jard triggers in my LR-308. Didn't ask why." I'm thinking I just need to follow through better and hold the trigger back before releasing?
  14. I think you are right. It looks like what Thomas J. warned us about has come to pass. The banks and corporations have come between the people and government. It took both the Dem and Repub parties to get us where we are today.
  15. This is a recently held meeting in NC where Sheriffs were in attendance to answer questions.
  16. “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.” –Ben Franklin kills me every time i read it....lol!
  17. The MSM, Congress and the Obama Admin have completely blacked out any mention of the psychotropic drugs being taken by these young men. I guess it's up to us to spread the word.
  18. I agree. But something has the public spooked, and has everyone buying AR-15s and such. I'm 55, and I've never seen it like this. Maybe it's the NDAA that was passed, or the obvious disregard Wash DC has for the Constitution? I don't know.
  19. My only comment on the new jp rifle restrictions is...wow, it's crazy out there. I think the republic lives. And how come we are still not hearing anything in the MSM about those drugs these shooters were on? Fanapt and the like? The silence on that is a bit unsetteling.
  20. After seeing the sentiment here, I thought I'd post this from The Daily Sheeple, it's what you don't hear in the MSM. "It’s no surprise that Adam Lanza was on heavy-duty pharmaceuticals, as was Aurora shooter James Holmes, the Columbine shooters, Ted Kaczinski the Unambomber, and many more. Many of the drugs handed out to troubled individuals have troubled histories in Food and Drug Administration testing themselves, and come with a list of side effects including hostility, aggression, confusional states, and impulse-control disorders." Combine this knowledge, with how fast the Obama Admin and the MSM jumped on this, and you can draw the conclusion they knew this would happen again. And they already had a plan in place to act quickly while emotions were high. They will use this to try and disarm Americans, depriving us of our 2nd Amendment rights. And that won't go over too well with many Americans. Has it occurred to anyone here that you might have someone taking these meds in your neighborhood? I've already called my local police and sheriffs depts. with my concerns. You should call yours too. The MSM won't talk about this because they get millions in ad revenue from these big pharma companies. God Bless Patrick Henry: "Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined. The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able may have a gun."
  21. sounds like it might be a good idea to have a extra extractor handy
