No, you can use any buffer tube/stock you wish. The only thing is to match the tube to the stock. <thumbsup>

Thanks for posting this <thumbsup> I contacted Michael at AlumiliteUSA and asked him about making a shroud/brake for us guys that cant have threaded barrels. Its held on with 12 set screws in 3 lines of four spaced equally around the circumference and ported with linear ports in the end. He did a great job. Gives it the SBR look we can't have in this draconian state.

Is it a completed barrel w/extension already installed? If so I don't think there is a way to change the headspace with out removing the extension and then even that would change everything else as well. (extension pin location, barrel gas port, etc. I'm pretty sure the only way to get a min length headspace is to start from a fresh barrel/bolt/extension.

The DMR trigger has a First Stage pull weight of 1.3 - 3 pounds (2 pounds nominal)and a Second Stage weight of 0.5 to 1.5 pounds and is also adjustable for sear engagement, pull weight and over travel. The SSA has a pull weight of about 4.5lb. 2.5 lbs on the first stage and 2lb on the second stage. The pull weights and sear engagement are non adjustable.

I thought someone here on the boards has compared the two loads in the LR-308, but I can't seem to find it anywhere? <dontknow>

This is from a parts kit build with a Tactical Machining lower. Hand guard is free floated YHM quad . Butt stock is fixed per AWB requirements and barrel is a 5.56 nato chambered, 16" unthreaded target crowned. This was just assembled and unfired. ordered parts for a friend then he backed out of the deal. asking $850 firm for just the rifle. $1000 firm for rifle as pictured with preban 30 rnd mag, scope, and shroud/muzzle brake. Thanks for looking Darin

I have searched high and low for plans for a long time now, No joy so far. All I have found were for the AR10, which are different from the LR-308. Tell me, Are you looking to build from scratch or finish an 80% lower?

Welcome! I'll bet that 338LM would do wonders on those hard water stains <lmao> <lmao>

When you say spring noise, are you referring to the sound of the buffer spring sliding in the tube? If so, mine does too and functions flawlessly so I don't worry about it. <thumbsup>

I can't wait to see how this effects the AWB for those of us still stuck behind the lines??? <munch> -
I did a lot more research and found that Ithaca stopped making 1911A1s in 1945 and had never made a stainless one. There are a few out there that are nickle plated and some that are chromed but they were done after WWII to surplus guns. as far as value, from what I have read, doing that destroys the value of the handgun. $400 is about the going rate for a nickle plated or chromed one.

I just went to one of my local gun stores and was asking the clerk about any 1911s they might have.( looking to buy a new one) After leaving the store I was approached buy an older gentleman who said he had a stainless Ithaca 1911 for sale, asking price ,$400. we exchanged names and numbers and I said I would contact him. Well when I got home, I did a search on the web and found nothing at all about any stainless steel Ithaca 1911s. has anyone here seen or heard of such a beast? <dontknow>

I went with the 300 RUM in a Remington 700.

Yep, just for a "custom made" shell plate. I bought a set of lee dies for the 6.8 spc, comes with a shell holder. I measured it and compared it to the 40S&W shell plate, they are the same.

I don't have a single shot upper in 338LM, But I do have one in 50BMG. I love it. the company I bought mine from is great to deal with and they do have the 338 conversion too. I thought about the 338 as well, but at $130 a box, no thanks, not for me.

yes they do, its the "R" plate. I have read around the web some where that people used the "5" plate(40S&W/10mm) before dillon came out with the "R" plate. <dontknow>
