I would go with anything but Rock River, due to their poor customer service, and the fact that FAL mags are becoming more expensive. I do not have a lot of .308 AR experience but I like my Armalite. I bought 5 mags at about $20.00 each, and have shot about 500 rounds with them. They performed very well with not a single problem.

Well I came across a set of mid length Magpul MOE hand guards for a super cheap price . they were specified for an AR-15. I have heard of someone modifying them to fit an AR-10. I thought I would give it a try. several hours later and many cus words, and "what the hell is going on in there " screams from my wife I got it to fit! Thanks to my trusty Dremel tool. The space between the hand guard collar and barrel nut needed to be much thinner. It was a slow tedious process but once they were on they are much more solid than the stock hand guards. I have drop-in railed hanguards on order from Armalite but I may stick with these. Just did last night. I got One real cheap. And put it on my AR-10. Had to do some trimming because the space between the handguard collar and barrel nut is much smaller than a .223. I'm going to do a post with pics today.

unsure at first but this stuff works great. went through over 100 rounds with a dry AR-10, with no feed problems at all

OK I have read all of the post on this subject but want to get some personal info. I am looking for a drop in or free float railed hand guard for my armalite AR 10 16". What are the benefits to having a free float hand guard. the MI drop in I got did not fit . what is my best option with a budget in mind??

Gtreat! I gave up on my order :( makes me wish I would have stuck it out for another year.

This rifle shoots great! a lot better, and lighter than my SOCOM m-1A . I am in the market for a drop in railed hand guard. The gunstore owner I got it from gave me a Midwest Industries hand guards but did not fit they were for .223. any suggestions? is there a great benefit to free floating hand guards??

Thanks for the info. Yes I would love to see pics of it. I've always liked My AR-15 Dissipator.. I've owned one for years.. I agree with you on the rails. I think the only thing I am going to install is a light bi pod.. -

The Magpul stuff, and installation. Do you have to get the hand guard specifically for the AR_10 or will AR15 ones fit? -

how much that set ya back, if ya dont mind me asken ;) send some pics of that bad boy! -
good find imschur! Jfeenin, I actually sold my EoTech and bought two Bushnell red dots for that price, granted the EOTech is pretty sturdy, but I made the mistake of storing it with batteries in it. they fouled up the connections in the battery cap. I could have replaced the battery cap for $30, but am pleased with the performance of the Bushnell up to this point. and was able to get one for my AR-15 and My .450BM. I would say If you have extra $$ get the EOTech. If money weren't an object I would buy ACOGS for all my rifles... ;D

RayGun, send some pics when u get it. I'm in the market for a railed forend. Oh yah, the Gun Store had this one already on order. He usually stocks a couple armalites in his show room.. -
Nice AR-10, I shot my new one yesterday, shoots great .If your looking for a sturdy red DOT I have been using the Bushnell Trophy model 73-0132p. about 150.00 bucks. I have had it on my .450 Bushmaster (which kicks similar to my AR-10) for about 100 rounds and no problems. The only bad thing is there is no auto shut off, like i was used to on my EO Tech. I have gone through three batteries forgetting to turn it off. If you have Academy sports Up there , I found one of these for 119.00 .http://www.abesofmaine.com/item.do?item=BUS730132P&id=BUS730132P&l=FROOGLE

I have given up on my Rock River LAR 8, and went with Armalite AR-10, which shipped in two weeks. It's sad RRA has such poor customer service because they make a pretty good product. I would have waited it out if they would have just responded to my e-mails, and gave some no BS updates.

I know! I wish you luck on the upper, and hope they come through. I don't think I will ever order anything from RRA again. I will only buy their items that are in stock from retailers. I t is worth the extra $... -

Spoke with the owner of the gun store who said that he has been waiting on 6 Weapons from Rock River Arms, and is also going to cancel the order because he has been waiting on them longer than I. He gave me a good deal on an Armalite AR10 A4. Now I need to sell a bunch of FAL Mags, anyone need any <dontknow> -

yah, 6-8 weeks is what they told me. That's sad because they make a pretty good product. I have owned a RRA .556 for years and still works great. But I've ran out of patients with their customer service, and I could not imagine waiting a year and get the wrong rifle >:( I'm going to cancel my order tomorrow and order Armalite. -

I think I will take your advise. I have heard nothing but bad from RRA customer service.
