What Rene said....he had knee replacement and im coming to my years anniversary of both knees replaced if you aint crying and cussin during rehab you aint doing enough....here's my info on rehab...if they say gimme 5 on anything like bending or whatever give em 10...just double what they ask you to do...your in pain anyway...so might as well achieve something I was climbing a ladder 30 days out....still in pain, but the knee's would do anything I asked of em.... get well soon! :) Wash

Sr welcome aboard! didnt see an upper reciever vise block for a 308..you already have one? nor a barrel wrench you got one? torque wrench? so your rain coming to you stripped...I thought they already have dust cover installed with takedown pins? so, with the bull 24" barrel and prs stock do you know are you going to end up with a very heavy piece? what do you plan on doing with this rifle other than lugging it to a bench? :) Wash

Way to go.....congrats :) Wash

Powerman Terry has it nailed I would think :) Wash

Powerman dammit for got to ask him about that...sorry :) Wash Did he happen to say what the proper engagement is between tube and key? btw....when putting tube into gasblock....was it tight going in gb? or loose? you shouldnt have play or gasses coming out he said
-
Powerman couldnt stand it..so I called Fulton for you told him what you are going thru an this is what he said....and dont shoot the freakin messenger....lol 1 a standard length gas tube will work..but sometimes you need the longer one...they are not in control of the placement of hole 2 their stuff is to work with a dpms tube buffer and spring 3 a jp bolt totally different animal from their bolt (dpms)and carrier and could be the problem 4 you have a stacking tolerance issue with the gas block and tube....gas tube hole too big for block...he's seen it before 5 you fubared your chamber with oil/grease while breaking it in...baked on stuff.....told ya...lol 6 you fubared your gas tube key with all that oil ,so take a pipe cleaner and clean out gunk! 7 headspacing is a must...he has to say that...we all know that 8 put down the finishing reamer and slowly walk away....thats for a smith thats all I got from them :) Wash

Power here you go http://www.reamerrentals.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=308Win%2Es http://www.reamerrentals.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=87 see what Terry sez bout this :) Wash

They are....keep em :) Wash

Power you dont have to measure the gb...break open the rifle or just remove the upper....if you have a muzzle break wrap some tape around the openings put mouth to muzzle/brake...put finger into chamber....give it a blow....you should hear air rushing out of the gas tube....and hard to believe not that much resisitance....if its doing that...you are gtg.... you did drop the bcg into downward pointing upper...go into almost battery? If its locking back like you say....you got it mostly.. could be the jp bolt..if you want hell ill send you one of my bolts?....and as Terry said i think your chamber is fubared from all that oil drenching you gave it....since the rifle is mostly working...the chamber may have crud burned in it :) Wash You know what? I read again where your brass is falling and how far....thats just about perfect in my book your gas is okay I would think now that ive digested this...(belch) give it a bj for piece of mind, but I think the gb is doing its job...as for leakage new one on me? we are down to the jp bolt and chamber

Power if memory serves...lol...ive read your thread more than once start to finish...you asked about the placement of the gas block where it should be...right?... one time you said the gasblock was off the shoulder not a cards width but more...and no dimple am i correct? crap...remember ive got oldtimers...lol then we all said nope should be just a cards width off...but I researched that for ya...fulton's gas port is further...so hence the longer tube.....but none of my 4 leak nada zero ..like your pics....placement does matter....when i build up one after the gasblock/tube is try mounted....I give it a BJ....stick my finger in the chamber...put mouth to muzzle and freakin blow....lol....you can hear the air coming out the gasblock into barrel. so you are leaking at the barrel? right? and leaking at the gastube in the gasblock too? right? im trying to condense all this....and then there's the jp bolt...and you dropped all that bcg stuff in the sand first time out? right? hmmmmm ...so you cleaned it all off by doing what? maybe sand and your bolt did a job on the lugs/chamber? crap.....im trying to help out an HK brother....so thats why all the questions...thinkin out loud.... Terry may have it...on the polish job (reamer).... I run a plain ol dpms car 308 buffer dpms spring on a plain ol milspec tube on 3 of mine and a tubbs spring on another....and not a burp .......dpms did have some crap mags out there at onetime,,but you got pmags? you say it locks back/?right? redo the gasblock with proper gas tube....reamer like Terry said :) Wash

Power from another source: +2 on the AR-10 tubes being 1/4" longer. I do believe that they are also the correct tube for the Fulton Armory barrels. However, I also installed a standard AR-15 rifle tube on my 308. It does seem short, but I have experienced zero issues and it seems to make no functional difference. Thats what I thought I remembered....Fulton takes the Armalite rifle length gas tube which is 1/4 inch longer so,lemme ask you....if you have DPMS style upper/lower why did you put Armalite buffer tube, buffer ,buffer spring in the butt? and whats your answer to my question about the new gasblock you put in...you put a new gas tube on it or what? :) Wash

Hey Power here's a longshot thought...did you headspace your rifle? prolly okay....but? my feelings are your rifle has "Armaflu"...lol its down to the bcg...prolly jp bolt and buffer tube ,spring ,buffer I went back and read all the posts....is your rifle Armalite in respect to the receiver? also....when you replaced the gas block....did you get the proper gas tube for the fulton rifle length barrel? 11/16 into lower is not enough protrusion :) Wash

The Proper Perspective... You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel. By Southern California standards someone like this would be considered "mentally unstable." What Southern California lacks is The Proper Perspective In Arizona , he'd be called "an avid gun collector." In Arkansas , he'd be called "a novice gun collector." In Utah , he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food." In Kansas, he'd be "A guy down the road you would want to have for a friend." In Montana , he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy." In Alabama , he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate." In Georgia , he'd be called "an eligible bachelor." In North Carolina , Mississippi, and South Carolina he would be called "a deer hunting buddy." And in Texas he's just "Bubba, who's a little short on ammo!
