  7. WoW Well sometimes I do have some good luck <laughs> geez ....I do believe the monolithics are unique. Big thanks to Chris Harter at performance arms for selling me one of his last week! I dont think there are any 308 style on the way to anyone but here's hoping! Guys I just bought a mega monolithic quad rail rifle length bout ten mins ago (ar15) from jse surplus....they have mts mid length and rifle length in stock right now....the upper monolithic only...not the upper lower sets...but that fine by me....so if you all think that someday one might be worth having ...go now and jump on them <thumbsup> Wash
  8. Hey Gunner no kiddin on the mono? really? where did you find this super duper info? <thumbsup> Wash
  9. 98Z Yikes on the price of the vortex! :) Wash
  10. Got my fingers crossed for you! Tell you what on the brown truck...ive got Big Jim's...(thats my driver) personal cell phone number and he's got mine...so if ive got a delivery coming or I have to sign...we call each other <laughs> pretty sick huh? <lmao> okay so tomorrow....a lil grease (just a tad) on the lugs...none in the chamber...lube the crap out of the bcg...do the one round function check...use 308 decent ammo....no 762 milsurp...and shoot the heck out of it :) have fun! Wash
  11. Hi 98Z Thank you...I had to fondle it again today...didnt shoot it ....gave it a once over....lookin at all that cnc work on the upper...then wiping my drool off it <laughs> Geez now its scope time for it....im wanting a highpower but compact scope...any ideas? acog a55 308bdc would be kewl...but out of my budget plus I dont think it would do the deed at 500 yds....sooo prolly that great priced Monarch again ;) Wash
  12. Hi Sea Ive never ever had a problemo on the first time out...and the count is 4 rifles...you see how stiff that bolt is in the carrier when its out of the rifle ? Its the gas rings and that cam being tight...soo lube her up real nice..I always put some gun grease on the locking lugs...making sure you dont get it in the chamber....that helps a bunch! :) Wash
  13. Fr3 daaaamn you are the riddle master ...but i went to the wallmart website and its over 100 bills more than the website I got my 2 from...but mine came from the same place....go figure <dontknow> Wash
  14. Hey Jon the website is one of those weby type sites....you know kinda generic funkey looking and selling everything under the sun....I threw the dice on the first scope...price was too good! so bout three days later the scope is on my doorstep....open it up look at the invoice Bentonville Ar .. yep <laughs> Wallmart <laughs> the "evil empire" ....came right from the "mothership " if anyone wants a great deal on scopes pm me...cause I dont wanna give out the website to any just any passerby :) Wash
  15. Hi 98 bought both off the net after shopping for days on the first buy 545 is a heck of a deal I think...you would laff your azz off if you knew where they came from when you see the invoice....I couldnt stop laffin..but im also kinda of a hater of this evil place....does that give you the clue? :) Wash
  16. I like em! I use the Rainier select barrel which is the lesser of the two ,and does not use the shilleen blank or whatever....and these selects shoot sub moa out to 500 yds...so yes the ultramatch is great! <thumbsup> Wash
  17. Hi Mineralman yeppers this monolithic is sweet and Mega kept the weight down too! remember though mega calls it rifle length but it only covers a middy gas block...handguard portion bout 12 inches :) Wash
  18. Hi 98 the Monarchs I have are the 8-32x50ED SF (BDC) they cost 545 bills where I found em.... farthest we have shot em is 500 yds ...one has the custom turret ....it starts with a 200 yd zero can go down or up to 700 yds using the FGMM 168gr....the other one I have dunno how far out it will take me but I think the glass would be superior to the ar308...well at least the magnification/glass and if needed to reach out and touch something I can always get a sloped moa scope mount for it :) Wash
  19. Hi Guys I think that the nikon ar 308 scope is a bad buy. Ive bought 2 Monarch 8x32x50 scopes and they had the ed glass....they cost just bout the same price...but geez look at the better optics you get with the Monarch...and for 90 bucks more you can have a custom turret built by Nikon for your specific ammo....just sayin :) Wash
  20. Hi S2 me...im partial to middy length gas systems...never needed an adj gas block....thing is i dont like my gas blocks exposed...just my own deal. with my middy system my choices for the handguard seems a lot better....every one ive built is pretty much a clone of the first one...the middy has never let me down...yep the brass flys, but never a ftf or fte.....when I wanna tune a lil for recoil...I go for the other end....buffer/buffer spring <thumbsup> Wash
  21. Hi Final came home and used the boresnake!...the concussion coming off the 16" barrel was sumthin else! :)Wash

    Grilling

392 dadgum....good smoke coming out of a full grill dont get no better...awesome! <thumbsup> but if I remember correctly didnt you or your bro get the sausage from a guy in a town just down the road fro La Grange? I have to smile when I saw that post! when I was seventeen...I took my sausage to La Grange in '65....yep the "chicken ranch" yep ZZ top had it right....as a matter of fact it was so good I went back 2 more times in the very early 70's before it got shut down..funniest story. trying to find it in '65 was in Austin at frat party bout 1am someone said lets go to the ranch...okay im in...so we are driving and getting close but couldnt quite find it in the middle of the night...stopped in a c store...there was a Dps leo in there drinking coffee...so i was asking the store clerk real quiet like..."where is the ranch"...well the dps officer heard me...he comes over puts his hand on my shoulder...im crappin in my pants he proceeds to give me directions to get there <laughs> couldnt believe that the turnoff sign to the ranch was a Texas highway sign pointing the way with the farm to market name on this very dark private road Now that ladies and gents is government at work! <thumbsup> ah the good ol days...a fella could go around the world for 20 bucks with the help of the Texas Highway Patrol <laughs> Wash
  23. Rene <lmao> no flame no gain <thumbsup> Wash
