  1. Hi Guys Have any of you got any experience with an acog ta55a with the 308 bdc? I mostly shoot steel at up to 500 yds and was wondering if this would work as opposed to my 8x32x50 Monarchs that get the job done? These are crazy expensive! I know that surely they shoot min of man at that distance....but 6" steel square? <dontknow> Wash
  2. Jgun they do some serious work....but Only $4,995.00 Geeeez :) Wash

  12. Hiya Rekitter the sass was my first barrel on my first 308 build last year...lemme tell ya that sass was a tackdriver... you will find that the sass chamber will be super tight so dont break it in by shooting 762 milsurp ..use good 308 ammo at first to break the barrel in...then you can go to the .762 later on...also dont chamber a live round unless you intend to make it go bang cause you might not be able to unchamber the round cause of it being so tight.. headspacing is always a good thing ..lube her up real good too....the 308 is a lil more intense than the .556 or 6.8...heck you can kill somebody with just hitting em upside the head with the bcg <laughs> Wash
  13. Welcome aboard ! Heres a lil tip on the firing pin retainer....notice that it fits in nice n tight....but watch out after you break in the rifle...when i take out the bcg's out of my rifle that pin will just fall out real easy....im always hunting those damn things after a day at the range and it comes down to cleaning the Bcg's...they arnt like the clip pin on a ar15...they stay put...my 308's are loosie goosie...even after I spread em apart with a knife they still fall out when cleaning :) Wash
  14. Rekitter on the troy trx hanguards .....there are two different heights....cause dpm changed their upper dimensions a while back...troy had to make two types of hanguards...thats the trx extreme 13.8 we are talking bout right?.....so if i were you I would call and talk with Jeff Morgan at troy...tell him what your upper/lower set is and he will tell you which rail height you need....and I heard that they were redesigning the troy extreme too...so you may wanna ask bout that :) Wash
  15. Robo " Nice gun, nice hands... They work well together!" and the smell of hoppes #9...doesnt get any better! thanks <laughs> Wash

  17. Hi Guys so here is the rundown on the monolithic single rail. 16" rainier select barrel stag low profile gas block a dpms Miculek brake Geissele super three gun trigger dpms chrome bcg plain ol buffer/spring 308 car type magpul acs stock ..six position tube btw the Mega comes with an ambi bolt release installed. Heres where you can "screw the pooch" on this build the instructions say with pics that you must be sure to have the barrel extension fully seated in the upper before you screw down the barrel nut or you will cause damage that cant be repaired...oh great thats what I needed to read <laughs> you cant see the locating pin on the extension when you place it...so i used Char's red fingernail polish on the extension and then on the other side too...so used my witches brew of moly and mp7 to try fit a few times...you must have no gap before you tighten down the nut. You have a lil open spot to make sure the extension flush way down in there....thought it was ....saw no gap, then I took my rubber mallet and gave it a nice whack....damn it moved another 1/16th inch in Whew... Im glad I did that! the barrel nut went right on.. the gas block no prob either.. the wrench is genius :) Wash
  18. Jgun Just got thru weighing it in <thumbsup> pics in a sec....but im holding it and thinking to myself this baby is gonna come in light :) Dont have optics on it..but I slapped a 20 rd pmag fully loaded on it...the digital scales sez 9.5 lbs....damn I weighed it many times to be sure <thumbsup> you and me were on the same wavelength <laughs> seems well balanced too. Wash
  19. Hi Rene ! Lets see....pain pills for the knee...and me not the artsy craftsy kinda guy that would be dangerous <laughs>.....hmmmm....gimme an airless and im okay with a 5 gal pail of paint....but an airbrush or a spray can... nope <laughs> I painted an rc plane with an airbrush and it took me several days to get it right....took it to the airfield and the boys laffed me off the field cause of the paint job <lmao> Wash
