Jsnake do not worry bout the barrel nut...I changed out a hand guard and barrel from Palmetto and had to use a breaker bar on the barrel wrench to take off the barrel nut....never have had to do that...so im sure yours is on tight! Wash -
They had to special order size 13 4E boots for both my feet......no $hit so that's the reason you never put your foot in your mouth? Wash
-
Sisco this is no $hit....you be sure the boot is the right size and has been fitted to you......that's how Char fractured her back...wrong boot not fitted.... Wash

Hey Jsnake A lil bit of both prolly ....as for break in everyone has their own theory....lol As for me I clean it then go shoot it...I don't do the one round clean thing...I shoot the barrel till I see the groups go wide and weird......did you know that a lot of folks have ruined their barrel by not knowing the proper cleaning procedure....and you can actually over clean your barrel......when you have a new barrel the bullet is actually smoothing and filling in the imperfections....then you clean the heck out of it (overclean) and you got an unhappy barrel for high dollar barrels,,,yes the barrel maker will want you to break it into the factories spec........one other thing if you nick or damage the crown its fubar time . your scope could be the culprit too...did you use a fatty torque inch pound tool? how many inch pounds did you tighten the scope to? although most all of my 308 barrels like FGMM 168 and Privi 168 maybe try a totally different grain? could it be you too causing the poor groups?.....and finally it could be the barrel you cant rule that out Bfoos groups look pretty damn good with lighter pills Wash -

Best Buffer Spring for AR-10 w/ Rifle-Length Receiver Extension
washguy replied to AR-Tenner's topic in General Discussion
BF you are a fine member here....so not to worry about someone taking your hard work the wrong way....As for me...I said it once and ill say it again Ar-tenner is pretty much anal and has run out of $hit to do ........ The Tubbs is a great upgrade for one thing...no matter what its made of...and seven years of use with no problem... well duh I would prolly get another even if its made out of coat hanger wire....as for putting pressure on the detent when pulling the spring out or putting it in....leave it alone for God's sake... Brother Rene I told my buddy lets torch it.....he laffed, and said look at your work area....its a fire ready to happen without a torch.... How you doing with rehabbing? are you bored yet with retirement?...lol I bet not Wash

Brothers ,Ive, been on a building rifle binge for the last few days....helping my buddy catch up on his rifles....so he does things a lil different....he collected parts for 5 different rifles and has been saying for the last year ill be over....lol So he retired from work 2 weeks ago, and now its binge building. One of the projects is putting a freefloat stngr rail on a 762x39 PSA upper. Folks always ask how much torque on the barrel nut? Sunofabitch...the guy that put this barrel on was Hercules ...nuthin would budge this barrel nut....couldn't find my breaker bar on the workbench,so we had to go buy a big ol breaker bar for the barrel nut wrench....Im thinking its got locktite or rockset.....so we get back home hes holding the wrench to the barrel nut and im using all my weight and then some ,and it squeaks as it loosens....daaaamn now that's just stupid tight...once off it had lubraplate grease no locktite...rifle looks good with that stngr rail...gotta get one some day ....on to the next build Wash

Welcome aboard ! Wash
