Yes....when you start changing things up it will complicate your $hit ...a direct quote from 98Z.......so if you want to go from a heavy mass bcg to save weight you will need all the complicated $hit ....lol.....you will need the adj. Gas block...and a heavier buffer and a spring change from standard spring....with these 308's it mostly is a timing thing..no biggie though...the gas part is the cycling of the carrier mostly...felt recoil is helped with buffers and springs...they all must work in harmony....I always start with a standard buffer and spring..get it broke in...then mess with all the complicated $hit later Wash

WIDEE You have got several ways of doing the light weight AR308.....BUT if you want a deer slaying rifle for your wife at less than 200yds and a rifle she will want to shoot more and more is this one its a 300 blackout....hell on pigs too...nice smooth easy recoil then theres lilcupcake a 308 built on the cheap cept for the barrel weight of cupcake 9lbs9oz ...last pic is hybrid 308 with mag no optics 7lbs .2oz ...so you can see what optics do to the weight like 98Z sez Wash
