Flabber look at this pic see how the catch is holding... This is the way it should look now from that hold of the bcg how much further can you pull back? if the spring doesn't solve the hold back issue its time to check your gas port....I know you're thinking no way a barrel mfg could put the wrong gas port on a barrel...lemme tell ya...they mostly don't have a clue as to what the rifle needs to cycle...sooo....I have all my rifles at the middy length...but this is where you should start looking and report back.....get you some numbered drill bits #42 .0935 #43 .0890 #44 .0860 #45 .0820 (most all of mine are .0820) #46 .0810 #47 .0785 lets see what ya got? when you buy the bits go ahead and get a wooden dowel rod that will fit in your barrel...ive got a feeling you're gonna be doing some drilling and the dowel will protect the barrels other side Wash

Flabber So take your unloaded rifle and make the bolt catch...look into the side while its open and caught...where is the bolt catch holding the bcg? And then while its caught gently pull back and how much does the bcg move backwards off the catch till it bottoms out? Wash

For now just get you a Tubbs flatwire car308 spring although the same spring is used in both rifle and car stocks...you cant go wrong.....get it at LaRue...cheaper and great swag on a small sale for them....The Sprinco orange spring with a heavy buffer is my new all time fav after last weeks testing of buffers and springs, but your'e right all my rifles have proper amounts of gas.....but you prolly have too little of a gas port.... you need to check the size of the port.....if you can get a dpms type car308 spring easy, and close to you get you one of those.... also do your mags rock back and forth in the magwell? Wash

OKC? Hell I went to OU Boomer Sooner but please don't tell anyone ok? Heck with the cup a joe....we need some brew and some pigs to shoot Wash

Flabber If it doesn't lock back on last round you will still be having problems...locking back function chk is mandatory ....if it were me I would get a Tubbs spring or an orange Sprinco spring lets see a pic of your buffer up against a ruler...I think you said 2.5 so that should be a car 308 buffer.....you need a spring and maybe some more gas... get you a lancer mag too...that should take a flakey mag out of the equation Wash

Redding just put a rifle together with a toolcraft nb bcg...and this thing is nice and well made...don't think the bcg itself is your problem......I always open the rifle muzzle down then drop in the bcg....should just about go into battery ....slide your charge handle and see if it somehow grabs in a certain spot.....other than that....you must function check to see if bolt catch holds....one round in mag...charge it shoot it...bcg should then be held by the bolt catch and be open...if not you must start the search on why it isn't catching Wash

Doc those look sweet! since 168FGM is what we shoot all year.....then it comes time to hunt deer and im always going now what do I get to hunt with....I would think the 168 otm would do the deed ,but it seems as though the internet hunters say...oh no you cant shoot a deer with otm 168...but I bet plenty of deer have hit the dirt from a fgm 168 these new ones look good....geeez please no mo ammo lol Wash

Geeez put that thing on weightwatchers ! most all of my DPMS/Mega come in at 9 + pounds with optics and empty mag....ive got 2 that are 8 pounds with optics and empty mag but they are a hybrid. I think I might have a heavy one ,but its so far back in the bunker it hasn't seen the light of day in years I wouldn't even worry about recoil,,,crap just getting it out of the truck would be my task for the day Wash -

BFOO They did not give you a car308 buffer spring...the car308 spring is longer its 11 inch and a1/4 but if you put the Tubbs in its all good...use the Tubbs with the KAK buffer Im a big fan of the KAK heavy car buffer just this last week I spent the day just swapping springs and buffers around in different rifles the gun range..... I am a Tubbs fanboy like forever...but no more. the sweetest combo with smallest felt recoil is a Sprinco orange spring combined with the KAK heavy buffer .I really wished this wasn't true and just a fluke....had to order new springs and KAK buffers...if it was close in the felt recoil I would have just left everything alone...but it wasn't....crap! SHEPP You out did yourself AWESOME PLATE !! Wash
