  1. haha, breakfast of champions!
  2. Here we go, time to make my fingers hurt. It seems the older I get the more my fingers seem to hurt from working brass. Now that everything is lubed, resized, trimmed, deburred, and chamfered. its time to prime and charge. [img width=810 height=607]http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh225/Polaris624/DSCN4688.jpg [img width=810 height=607]http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh225/Polaris624/DSCN4691.jpg 60 rounds 5 of each bullet, with 2 charges of each powder. 42, and 44 gr of H4895, and 43 and 45 of Varget. [img width=810 height=607]http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh225/Polaris624/DSCN4693.jpg My little corner of the house, the wife gets the entire house and I get a small corner of the garage. [img width=810 height=607]http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh225/Polaris624/DSCN4694.jpg I will post the results next weekend. ;)
  3. Thanks for the offer Edge, and thanks to imschur for the find at brownels. Didnt see it there before, it will be on my next order. <thumbsup>
  4. Very Nice! You must have been on the good list. <thumbsup> I have to ask where did Santa find that nice matt? I have been trying to find one for my workbench and have had no success.
  5. Thats what she said! <laughs>
  6. works for me bro, maybe try to copy and paste the link. :)
  7. :o http://www.navy.mil/view_single.asp?id=112629
  8. I used the TM stripped lower to build my 308 DPMS clone with, and its been fantastic. It fits well with the DPMS upper and DPMS 308 lower parts kit. Go for it, you wont be dissapointed. <thumbsup> Heres a link to my assembly thread. http://308ar.com/forum/tactical-machining/my-first-308-assembly/
  9. I have to admit I have never used varget, but after getting a couple recomendations from you guys I checked it out and seems there is alot of very happy varget users out there. Now I have to go get another pound of powder. Which means I have to load more test rounds, which means I have to send more rounds downrange, and thats just terrible ;)
  10. I have to clean the drewl off my keyboard on a regular basis after viewing that rifle. OMG They have videos now! :o could somebody get me a towel ? Nice Rifle ! 8) I don't think I could afford shooting a .338 Lapua in semi-auto.
  11. You said you wanted to see some 20 rnd groups, well hows this? <laughs>
  12. Going to find out which will shoot best in my new rifle, I have been using 168gr Barnes TSX in my 300 RUM for the last 7 or 8 years with better then half a minute results. However my new polygonal rifled barrel on my .308AR doesnt seem to like the solid coppers very well, so its off the the loading bench to try out a few different bullets. This is going to be alot of fun! <thumbsup> For the time being I will only be testing two propellants H4895, and AR-Comp Varget. Need to get ready for some feral hog eradication >:D
  13. Thanks, So it seems the chamber is on the tight side of things. The reason I asked is I found a barrel on GunBroker that was listed as, NIB 20" Krieger stainless match barrel fitted with DPMS LR-308 barrel extension in 308 Obermeyer, chambered and finished by WOA.
  14. Ok, forgive my ignorance but whats the difference and why would I choose one over the other? Can I shoot standard off the shelf 308 win ammo in the Obermeyer chamber? <munch>
  15. What barrel did you end up using?
  16. <lmao> <laughs> No kidding !
  17. F-irst O-n R-ace D-ay ;)
  18. Here's mine!
  19. Exactly, after having the spares in the shop for a while you tell yourself, self its only $49.95 for a new stipped lower on sale at PSA, you already have all the parts for it, and then the cycle repeats with the upper, before you know it SHAZAAM! theres a complete new rifle! <dontknow> Hard to argue with self in that case. :o Just keep self logic away from wife logic. ;)
  20. I cant really say what is a good set of anything extra to have on hand. Because everytime I order something with the intent on it being a spare part, a new gun seems to spawn from those extra parts. :o
  21. My brother shared this with me, <lmao>
  22. To all that have served, or are currently serving in the armed services of this great Nation. THANK YOU!
  23. Great read, Thanks for sharing!
  24. Try this, Mil-Comm TW25B Grease. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=24410/avs%7CManufacturer_1=MIL-COMM%20PRODUCTS%20COMPANY/ttver=2/Product/WEAPON-CARE-PRODUCTS
  25. OK, got the glass on it and bore sighted. A few bullets loaded for testing, various 150gr Barnes TSX, and 168gr TSX with several different powders and charges. [img width=810 height=607]http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh225/Polaris624/DSCN4556.jpg Also traded out the MIAD for an Ergo Ambi, I think I like it better.
