An Italian woman with an assault rifle is the 3rd most terrifying thing on earth. Of course, 2nd is an Irish red head with one, 1st is a Russian woman with one.

LAR Manufacturing Acquired by Remington

I've never seen any real problems with the Chinese in the REAL firearm industry. It's our own neighbors, our own legal system and a few Europeans who are such a problem. At least from my experience. Oppression on innovation rights of individuals has held us back ALLOT. Myself and a few other inventors I hold a few of eachother's cards. Between myself and others I know, we're sitting on a wide range of technology that the industry won't discover for another 10-20 years, if ever. Heck, I was sitting on stuff back in 2002 and 2003 that's just now coming to light. Mind you, we're talking about myself, a dozen other folks and the idea or 2 we intrust one and other with. You cannot imagine how much advanced and valuable technology is just being sat on in this country due to the sleazy behavior in the industry. -

I've given up on innovation in this country. There's a few of us with the energy to innovate, but almost no part of the industry has any room for us. Come up with anything fresh and you're just going to get ripped off. So why bother? -

Everyone in US under virtual surveillance - NSA whistleblower
MaDuce replied to imschur's topic in Club House
With the way yahoo, facebook, PSN, xbox live etc. are configured, I have always suspected this sort of thing. -
I just got it in and ran a test spray. It's a brighter tan then the FDE magpul uses but I think it'll fit just fine. It's a little brighter then the grip components on the CAA interchangeable grip. It's basically more of the old fashion desert tan shade.
-
Actually, that was the Lincoln Rifle Club.
-
That's exactly what I had in mind. I personally might go with OD green on my .308. If I do, I'll leave my magazine uncoated.

I am no cop, but I have had both of those dreams many times. Last one I had, I was actually flipping through guns while being chased by someone armed with a blunt weapon until I found one that got the job done. It was a 9mm of all things. LOL. Looking back at it, it sounds funny but while having it, nothing to laugh at. Until just now, I though I was the weird one. I had no idea that this sort of dream was common. LOL. The way you said that hit my funny bone.

I realize this idea has it's limits but for FDE rifles, has anyone ever considered coating pmag with tan truck bed liner? I recently ordered a can of it off amazon.com and tracking says it'll be here tomorrow. http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-253438-15-Ounce-Coating/dp/B006ZLQ8ZO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354489488&sr=8-1&keywords=tan+bed+liner I ordered it really for experimentation and possibly for coating the frame to my CZ-52 rather then redoing it. From what I have seen, this stuff looks like it's much stronger then the common coating applications, being basically a full synthetic sleeve. I would think that on California builds this would also seal up the mag, making it permanent. What are your thoughts on this application?

Well, I found the Barrett picture but it doesn't show the target or give a good sense of the distance.
-
I haven't been to that range in 3 years and never asked what the distance was when I was shooting there. My guess, based on memory is maybe 20 yards. I THINK I have a picture of myself shooting a Barrett M82A1 at that range with the distance visible. I'll see if I can't find it. M1 Carbine starts to drop allot at 100 yards. Hitting a soda can at that range with an M1 Carbine is good shooting. Hitting a soda can at that range with my AR-15 is something to yawn at. M1 Carbine is a short range rifle. I thought everyone would have assumed I wasn't shooting at long distance given what it is. I have a really hard time getting shooting footage guys. In the last 15 years, I think I got 7 or 8 videos of myself. I am really not sure why. I guess I just have trouble finding someone to film it. Then again, I've only been to the range a few times in the last 5 years anyhow. That DOES need to stop. I would love to get some target footage though. Especially when it comes to experiments, I've done allot over the years I wish I could have gotten on film. Regarding Desert Eagles, those guns are very rough recoiling and the .50AEs are very hard to hit accurately with even at point blank range. The .44s are much easier to hit accurately with though and with a good custom trigger, polished action and fitted sights, it's pretty amazing what you can do with it. Desert Eagles may have terrible PRACTICAL accuracy, but having a fixed octagonic barrel, the mechanical accuracy of the Desert Eagle is exceptional. You just need to make it user friendly. Ammo is important to. Miwall is the only brand I can print one hole groups with. The other brands are a little closer to typical accuracy. 2 inch groups at 10 meters was common.
-
It is what it is. Last time I took it out, went through a 30 round mag and when it was empty it looked like I shot the target once with a .50 caliber. We can theories all we want on how. I am sure the significantly reduced recoil (muzzle break?) and optic play a role. My Desert Eagle also prints one hole groups with Miwall 240gr ammo. I haven't been out shooting in about a year. I am sure I need to warm up before shooting like that again.

It's a Plainfield. She already has a choate pistol grip stock (original model), aluminum barrel shroud, scope mount (in place of rear sight) and a smith compensator muzzle break. I have a bunch of 15 and 30 round mags for it too! Being in California and it having been registered before the AWB deadline, it's my only gun that pretty much legally ignores all the California AW laws.

A funny but unfortunate true story about how coincidence can really ruin someone's day. Robert Heinlein was a famous Sci Fi author who was popular in the 1950s and 1960s. He wrote several famous novels including Stranger in a Strange Land and Starship Troopers. At the start of the cold war, Robert Heinlein; like many Americans was fearful of a nuclear attack from the Soviet Union and believed that the LA area where he lived was a prime target. His solution was to spend a fortune moving to Colorado, where he built a breathtaking home which gave him a breathtaking view of a beautiful mountain in the background. Shortly after settling, the military paid him a visit to inform him that they would be building NORAD in to that mountain (Mt. Cheyenne), making it the No.1 nuclear target in the world.

Well, I'll spare you the long story. Let's just say I don't drink, I bought a 20 pack of beer on my 21st birthday and lived in a small redneck town at the time. Anyway, my 21st birthday would have made a great MasterCard commercial: 20 pack of beer, 15 dollars. Box of .30 Carbine ammo, 20 dollars The look on a redneck's face when he sees an unopened can of beer explode, PRICELESS! LOL

Hay guys. I have an M1 Carbine that had a bad BCG but no other problems that I know of. I've had the gun since I was 20 and it has shot well, save for the deterioration of the BCG. It's also super accurate. Last time I fired it, I put a whole 30 round mag through a single hole. I am thinking about getting a new BCG for the gun here in the next month or 2 and getting it up and running. It's already a modernized gun and has been registered with the California assault weapon ban, so I can pretty much put whatever I want on it. I've been thinking about refurnishing the gun. While I tend to like my own work best, in this case I am hoping to use some AR style components. Anyone got any ideas or suggestions? Also, some of my mags have bad springs and one of them has a bad follower. Any ideas where I can get replacement parts for them?

Oh, yeah, that's different.

Sounds sad. My sister got it together but my brother only got worse. I am not expecting him to be alive 2 years from now and frankly, I am not expecting to cry at his funeral. Believe it or not, there are things your own family can do to remove all love and bonds with them and my brother has done most of them. I seam to recall bipolar disorder rating one of the higher disorders for suicide rates, though not as bad as some better known disorders (ADD/dyslexia is the worst if my memory is correct). It's a very real disorder and the people who have it struggle. The problem is that people very loosely claim to have these disorders (ADD/Dyslexia, bipolar and turrets being ridiculously common) to the point that everyone treats it as though it's just an excuse for belligerent or negligent behavior I suspect that 200 years ago, things like Bipolar and ADD/Dyslexia didn't matter that much. George Washington for instance supposedly had ADD/Dyslexia. Having ADD/Dyslexia myself, I can tell you the biggest hardship is that the way today's world works and the way our academic language is laid out is simply not compatible with the thinking process. What you get in the end is an invisible handicap. Psychologically speaking, it's sort of like being asked to do standard manual labor with a broken or lopsided leg and being accused of not trying hard enough when you collapse. I'd put money on this being the overwhelming factor in the deficiencies extremely high suicide rate. I have known several people who had genuine cases of bipolar disorder. These are NOT people who are just lazy about getting their emotions under control. It kinda reminds me of turrets. They really seam like something just snaps in their heads and they go off before instantly snapping back. It's aggravating but I also don't think these people really have the power to do anything about it. But in these people I DO see that same frustration that is common with folks with ADD/Dyslexia. I don't know what this lady's situation is, but if there's a likelihood that she really is bipolar, be careful judging her. Not everyone I've known who was bipolar is still among the living, and those who are now dead all died of the same cause. Like the seasonal flue, these disorders are not only real and impairing but also far deadlier then the public at large thinks. I don't know how it works for bipolar but for ADD/Dyslexia, trying to keep your head in the rest of the world's track is almost exactly the same as trying to hold a thought while you are exhausted and barely conscious. I would imagine bipolar people probably face the emotional equivalent. No matter how hard you try, your brain just won't let you stay in line. I think the great error here is that our society strongly, sometimes even violently refuses to co-exist with these psychological deficiencies (I think differentiations is probably more accurate) despite all the recent media they've been getting. So, in many cases, we choose to drug them and/or warehouse them rather then find a use for them. And I am actually in the process of writing a report that more or less proves it's one of the major culprits to why we are having so many civil and financial problems right now. If we think it through hard enough, I am sure we can find some uniquely productive uses for the bipolar disorder as well as all the others.

When I lived near Tampa in Florida there were allot of local heroin junkies. I had a friend who's sister use to go to raves and bring her with her on occasion. When I had the chance, I went along to serve as a body guard, or basically to make sure she (my friend, not her sister) didn't get raped. Trying to protect her sister was a lost cause as she would give out freely to anyone. Anyway, I crossed paths with my fair share of heroin junkies there. I also grew up in South Lake Tahoe during the gang wars of the 90s and all these gang families moved to Tahoe to get their kids away from street gangs. In stead of getting away from it, their kids brought it with them and the resort/tourist city of South Lake Tahoe was overrun with street gangs during that period. It got so bad that the casinos actually told the police to "get the gang problem under control or we will." Fortunately, they made sure that statement reached the ears of the gangs. My brother was running with one of those gangs. I've never before or since seen anyone so happy to go to jail (or juvenile hall in this case. Anyway, heroin was a big drug of the time. I always hated street gangs, so the gang culture of 90s Tahoe kept me pretty well secluded to my art projects, video games and history research but; with both my brother and sister running in gangs, I was more or less surrounded by it and well exposed to the drug trade despite wanting nothing to do with it. Heroin addicts that I've seen were extremely apathetic. I guess in a way they are similar to meth addicts. Meth addicts are more extreme though and tend to be more active as where heroin addicts tend to crawl in to their own little cave for the most part. All the meth addicts I've seen were transients. They try to sweet talk their way in to other people's homes and then cheat and steal from them. I have a weird reputation around here. I am known for helping folks out, so you'd THINK the meth heads would always be coming my way to try to take advantage. But early on, they discovered that I am no fool and there's a false rumor going around that I pack heat all the time. I DO intend to validate that rumor as soon as I can afford to but in the mean time, the mystic of my ways seams to be keeping me out of trouble. LOL. Right now my neighbors are at war with one and other. When I first moved in to this neighborhood, the transient traffic was really bad. Allot of neighborhood class actions got all the slime out and it was actually a nice place to live for a while. Now a few people who moved in to the area over the last couple years are bringing the slime back in and those of us who've lived here for a while are seeing the old days come back and are fighting back to keep it from happening. As soon as I get my CCW, I might start working with the local police as an informant, to help get these scum off the streets.

LOL. That sounds like a combination of 2 different kinds of dreams I occasionally have. 1. The kind where something completely bizarre happens that; while you're awake, sounds like something to laugh at but when you're actually having the dream, tends to be very terrifying for whatever reason. 2. Where you (as it appears in the dream at least) handle a moral and/or legal dilemma as well as you can but the jacka** with you does something completely berserk and ridiculous, creating a situation that could get you in to all kinds of legal or social trouble. LOL The weird thing about these dreams is that when you're awake, they seam like something to laugh at. Almost like a scene from a spoof cartoon or movie. But when you're having them, they're a nightmare. Getting thrown in jail or killed over someone else's stupid behavior may be a good laugh in a joke or movie, but when you're having the dream; in your mind, you're actually getting killed or thrown in jail for it.

That sucks. I here you though. Had a few like that myself.

A couple of my own. The one from last night. The purp was a friend's friend. As is often the case with nightmares, the friend of mine is real but the purp was made up by the dream. The purp being the friend of someone I know is usually the case in my nightmares. Anyway, this fellow looked like he was 6ft 8 but very laid back and easy going, so I let my guard down. At some point I was helping him get stuff out the back of his truck when he came over and sneakily tied my leg to something in his truck and shoved me over, causing me to dangle upside down. He started talking like a serial killer, saying that he was going to take me somewhere and basically torture me to death. Then this mouthy neighbor of mine came out (this is only a short distance from my house) and started yelling at him unaware of what was going on. He started walking towards her and I took the time to get my foot loose. I stuck my head around the front of the truck to see him walking fast towards her with a snub nosed revolver in his hands. Realizing I was entirely powerless to protect that lady, I chose to use the situation to sneak past him and get home to a gun. By the time I got to the corner, he was on top of her and fired the first of 3 shots at her. I raced on home and as I was unlocking my door, I could sense that he was closing in. I actually thought about why he didn't just take a shot at me and figured he was a thinker and wasn't going to risk one of his last 3 shots at distance. Anyway, I got home and grabbed my HK USP .45 and started moving towards the door. It was kind of a quick and aggressive action at this point on, making it kind of a blur, but I basically started pursuing him very aggressively and woke up. One thing that made this one unique among all previous SD nightmares is I was not at all concerned about the ensuing legal problems nor any emotional dilemma. My sense was that this guy was so bad that he was basically not a person and the things he was planning on doing so extreme compared to any legal repercussions that I just wasn't worried about it. ............... This one happened about 2 years ago. I use to have a neighbor who was very belligerent. Although it happened AFTER the nightmare, this guy actually pointed a gun at a friend of mine, just because he was mad. Believe it or not, the police took his gun and gave it to his sister and didn't even arrest him, despite the fact that the guy he pointed the gun at was testifying against him in court at the time. How he managed to evade arrest is beyond me. Anyway, the nightmare wasn't about him but actually about a friend of his made up by the nightmare. My neighbor kept telling his friend how terrible I am, apparently just venting his anger (in real life, the man was always mad about something and vented on me, apparently because I am one of the few people around here who won't promptly beat his butt for it. Anyway, they were both yelling at me and threatening me in front of my drive way so I told them to leave and went inside, closing the door. A few seconds later, the door opened and his friend stepped in with a hatchet and this "I'm gunna get you" grin on his face. I grabbed my 10mm Beretta, aimed it square between his eyes and told him to leave my house right now. This was that moment where you start REALLY thinking about both the legal repercussions and the inner effects of having taken someone's life. On top of that, I knew that my neighbor was a bluff and had no idea if his friend was either. In other words, I feared my life may not be in danger but I may end up killing this fellow do to lack of knowledge. We all know the logic, but it's a different matter to think it through in a real situation, and this was probably the most realistic SD dream I've ever had. At this point my back was literally against the wall (a counter actually) and he kept coming, now within arms reach, and I fired one shot, putting a very clear and rough hole between his eyes. The man fell back and started bleeding out on my floor. My neighbor who was watching the hole thing outside my front door started yelling obscenities. something along the line of, "What the F***! He wasn't gunna hurt you. What the F*** is the matter with you, you SOB. I turned and yelled back at him something like "I can't read your minds. If you didn't want this to happen then you shouldn't have put me in the position." I went for the phone to call 911 and as I did, I started getting furious with my neighbor, realizing the dead man on my floor was put up to it by him and basically realized that he had orchestrated this entire scene yet probably wouldn't spend a day in jail for it. I woke up while talking to dispatch.
