  1. Man, I REALLY like this one. It's an Addax Tactical Guardian lower receiver. Extremely rare and limited model. As in, I had to order it and wait a long time to get it. I now have it assembled and the gun intact. It reminds me allot of the Mega Arms lower receiver. The feature I like most is a screw behind the handle in the lower receiver that presses a piece of hard rubber against the upper receiver. Before you put the grip on, you basically fully attach the upper to the lower and then screw it in with an Alan wrench to fine tune the tension to exactly what you want. So now I have completely eliminated all play between the upper and lower receiver, yet still allow the gun to be broken down with relative ease. It's a simple method but one that works far better then anything else I've seen. On top of all that, it's one of the best looking lower receivers I've ever seen. On the down side, there isn't a single piece of furniture to the gun build that I intend to keep on it indefinitely. I am going to have to gradually replace it all, piece by piece. Also haven't put a muzzle attachment on it yet. Full parts list: * Red-X Arms X-Treme upper assembly with their straight fluted 20in barrel. * Addax Tactical Guardian lower receiver. * DPMS Chrome BCG * DPMS 4 position butt kit (innards are temporary to hold things together. Will order replacements tomorrow or Monday. * DPMS lower parts kit. * Vltor Gunfighter Charging handle. * BSA red dot (just a hold over until I can put a good scope on it) Still working on the buffer and muzzle break. Anyway, here are a couple pics for you.
  2. They're going to have an uprising on their hands.
  3. First off, let me point out that this refers ONLY to carbine buffers, NOT rifle length buffers. Mr. Robobot and I had a discussion about this. Unfortunately, I now realize it wasn't AS conclusive as is probably necessary. I like the idea of a heavy buffer because; 1 - Money is extremely tight right now and I found them for as little as $25, 2 - I read that they greatly help with reliability and it IS my experience that heavier action generally means better reliability. However, I am doubtful that it's going to have as great of benefits in reducing recoil as the others. On the matter of spring buffers, they too sound great, both for reducing recoil AND shooting the action back forward, but as you probably guessed, they're pretty much beyond my budget at the moment. So; price aside, I would like your take on how these 3 compare. What the advantages are, what the disadvantages are and how you think their ups and downs make a real world difference. Thanks in advance.
  4. It's a morally tricky subject for me which is why I am reserved but in general, I must alter my position and agree with you.
  5. If he were an American citizen I'd be defending his 1st amendment right as he claims, but he's not a US citizen. This is more then a legal technicality. Until he has commuted himself to this country and a life in it, he has no rights as a citizen. In other words, the 1st amendment doesn't apply to him. Even so, the right to say whatever you want, no mater how appalling is extremely critical, even if you don't permanently live here. In other words, it's a morally tricky situation. At least for me. As it stands, I won't defend or oppose him. But I will speak against him as needed. People like him may be necessary to prove our case.
  6. My brother collected Hustler magazines during our high school years. I got a look at a few of them, but much of what I saw traumatizes me to this day.
  7. Our society is more like that now then you realize.

    OH NOO!!

Kinda hard to tell sometimes, hu? Lucky for them, I was just playing Resident Evil 6. I am also allergic to coffee. I substitute with Mountain Dew. So there you have it. I predicted that there'd be a viral outbreak and the streets of American would be overrun with zombies and I'd have to kill them with an assault rifle in a desperate struggle for survival. Then turn off the Playstation 3 and go to sleep. My prediction came true! LOL. BTW. Resident Evil 6 SUCKS!!

  10. You guys should also check out the Sgt. Vader video (Star wars with Darth Vader - R. Lee Ermey voice override). Normally voice override videos on youtube aggravate me but I laughed myself to tears watching that one.
  11. Just put this guy in charge.
  12. That video has been around for years now. I first saw it right before the nation's view on gun control started to swing in our favor and is probably one of the main causes. That's been a very influential video and so because it's truthful and to the point. If you want to see more of her, another likely major contributor to the swing in the nation's attitude towards gun control was Penn and Teller's program on gun control which more thoroughly drives that point home. You can check it out here. Be forewarned, lots of cussing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XrNzE39J8E
  13. I don't get it.
  14. We need to ban knives.
  15. I don't play 1st person shooters at all. I can only endure 1st person for a few minutes at a time. But I am not exactly crazy about Resident Evil 6. Despite the name, past resident evil games have always had colorful and mature characters with some good morals. Resident Evil 6 butchers much of that. And the gameplay; particularly the controls.... they basically took Resident Evil 4 and 5 and butchered it in exchange for faster movement. This game is very hard to get in to. I'll mess with it tomorrow night just to validate my prediction (it's a big joke in person) but after that, it's going straight back to it's owners where it will stay.
  16. LOL. That thing is badly in need of a cartoon voice speaker for yelling stuff like, "ABLDABLDABLDABL!!"" chasing those cows.
  17. Here you go folks. Sorry it took so long. TBH, I had misplaced it while house cleaning. The black markings on the grip may look like decoration but they're actually reference marks for texture variation. As stated, the large thumb rest has yet to be installed. The back area is cut to fit the magpul MOE butt. I don't think I'll ever actually use it but I may finish and trade it some day.
  18. I get the impression that up until very recently, most people would forever hold a gun responsible for early failings. Take the Beretta M-9 for instance. There was an imbalance in the slide and that caused a few to separate early on. Beretta fixed it right away but to this day, you still hear people going on about how weak their slides are and how easy they come apart. With the boom of new science media and improved PR about product generations, people are starting to realize that manufacturers also notice these early problems and correct them. The AR-15 by design doesn't leave allot of room for faulty machining and everyone is making them, which means we have a variety of quality levels. This of course means that we still have the old diversity in reliability, but for completely different reasons. My impression is that this is the chief problem with old vets. The one thing old vets seam to be unexpectedly aware of, even over respectful of when it comes to the M-16 is the potency of the bullet. I don't know if it's common but one odd thing I DID see was an uncle of mine (my grandmother's brother) get on his daughter's husband for taking an AR-10 bear hunting. His problem was that he though the gun wasn't powerful enough. Why, I don't know. He himself killed bears with a .30-06. The impression I get is that the gun it's self was so small that he didn't realize the ammunition was as large and powerful as it is.
  19. At this point, I have no desire to be directly involved in the firearm industry, apart from the typical occasional private trading with individuals now and then. My experience with the firearm industry has not been very good. Same lying, cheating, theft and overall sleazyness as any other industry. No surprises from Obama. I expected no less from him.
  20. Well, fortunately mine is not particularly fancy or heavy. It's mostly made out of aluminum and high strength plastic like the grip on your AR. I don't think it's going to have any trouble getting back up should it bite the dust. It DOES have two cool features. Video camera, so you can see the world from the chopper's point of view. It also has a spot light. I can actually see some genuine use for the spotlight, such as helping someone on a ladder in the dark. It's this thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69APGj8o9tg
  21. I just borrowed Resident Evil 6 from my neighbor to make sure my prediction about winter solstice comes true. Dec 21st is going to be a wild day.
  22. DANG!!! After watching those maneuvers I was not at all shocked to see it crash. That guy has some huevos rancheros as well as some skill.
  23. Sounds like people are finally getting fed up with all the nonsense.
  24. Not every hunter has a brain in his skull. Far from it. I've actually had one brag to me that he unloaded a 12 gauge riot shotgun on a squirrel that still got away. It's not hard to imagine someone like that supporting some parts of the anti-gun debate.
  25. Oh, OK. I thought you were inquiring about the thumbhole stock market. I think we all share the same attitude towards the AWB. Anyone who ever did support it was either a devil's advocate or had a loose screw.
