  1. Welcome from AZ!
  2. I don't read where the handcrank can't be attached to a chain ring, like a pedal arm on a bicycle. No telling what sort of spinney turney thing is on the other end of that chain. Triple 7 baby!
  3. Decades ago the formula for motorcycles was $400 per pound not there. I'd say it's triple that for firearms these days.
  4. That's everything there in the photo. There is a noticeable difference in a side-by-side comparison to the ACOG and Compact ACOG.
  5. The Zeiss were on there, at a very resonable price. Comparable to the Vortex weight-wise. However, a decade ago when I last worked retail, we were getting reports from customers that had booked African safaris, that they had been told their rifles were NOT to have Zeiss optics due to heat sensitivity. I'd think that surely that issue had been resolved in the past decade.
  6. When I did that filter, it surprised me they were on there. They certainly do feel like solid little objects. I was also surprised the Trijicon battery-free rifle scopes were on there as well. Amazingly bright and clear optics there. And you pay for it.
  7. Tried that filter-mabob at Opticsplanet. Maxed out the weight choice as everything they had listed below 15 oz, and all the fixed and variable magnification up to 6x: http://www.opticsplanet.com/riflescopes.html?_iv_magnification=range-1-4-x,range-1-5-x,range-1-dot-1-4-x,range-1-dot-5-4-dot-5-x,range-1-dot-5-5-x,range-2-6-x,3-x,3-dot-5-x,4-x,6-x&_iv_weight-2058888286=8-dot-9-oz,9-dot-9-oz,11-dot-2-oz,11-dot-4-oz,12-oz,12-dot-6-oz,13-oz,13-dot-1-oz,13-dot-4-oz,14-oz,14-dot-3-oz,14-dot-4-oz,14-dot-8-oz,13-dot-2-oz You can filter it from there.
  8. Go ahead and secede.
  9. Until they're shedding transfer cases at 90mph on the interstate!
  10. Okay, Saturday. Are we shooting straight lead on Sunday?
  11. Ya know, a gatling gun like that in .45-70 may be an idea for something like a group elk hunt. Pool everyone together with cow tags, find a herd, draw straws for who shoots first.
  12. Oh crap. Blue's recommending arfdotcom. I'm curious what he has to say about the 590 and BPS. If a person had zero experience with pumps and did a side by side comparison of the 500 to the 590, I believe most anyone would conclude the 500 was about to fall apart. The 870s are another victim of Ceberus/Freedom Group IMO. Like the Marlin owners, there are 870 buyers who will pay near vulgar amounts to get a pre-Freedom Group example.
  13. IIRC, Norinco did a copy of the 1897 Riot Gun, maybe the Trench version too. Right now the best combat shotty replica is Inland Manufacturing's M37.
  14. /\/\/\/\ Nope, it's a side-slinger.
  15. Ian in uniform and everything, for a bit of trivia on Trench Guns of WWI: Wait for it...
  16. I've seen that on their website looking for other information. I really like the handguard and flash hider.
  17. One of the new "bricks", 333 or 300? Or the old standby of 500 or more?
  18. Forgot about Fenix. Just looked and am pretty impressed with all the AA and AAA options for lighting now!
  19. When I worked graveyard security shift, my girlfriend and I wanted to move, so we went to look at this 2-bedroom house for rent. The landlord/owner said he couldn't meet us until 5:30pm. Okay, fine. Great little house! Pay the deposit, we can move in the following weekend. Move in Saturday, Work Sunday night, crash Sunday morning about 5:45am. The sheet metal shop next door, named only Western Products, kicked into high gear about 6:30am. Well played landlord, well played. But that's a hugeass difference from something with 45 miles of 8' fence surrounding it and marked with signs, stating Luke AFB.
  20. Rimfire is obsolete. The only relic clinging to meaningful life is the .22 and family. The old codger hoarders hosed all future generations with their greedy ways. What had been comfortable increases in cost were lost in the pimpish gougery of those hoping to augment their social security/retirement, by scalping bricks of .22 at ridiculous prices. The manufacturers and retailers have seen this and, while prices have dropped, they are hovering at $30-40/brick. Because they have seen what people will pay. And many times that is a reduced brick, like the Winchester 333 box. At this point in time it is cheaper for me to look at alternatively chambered firearms across the spectrum, than it is to continue training beginners with .22 rimfires. The logical choice is 9mm Luger for handguns, 5.56/.223 for rifles. Both of which are highly competitive with .22 rimfire now, when bought in bulk. Bulk which is increasingly difficult to even locate with .22 rimfire.
  21. You dudes gave us In-N-Out! Quit while you're ahead! http://www.vox.com/first-person/2016/12/8/13799096/beyond-meat-impossible-foods
  22. Meh. Once you've seen the performace done for a Dependents' Day or Tiger Cruise, the precision displays are fairly pablum.
  23. Most likely she was talking about your farts.
  24. This is along my lines of thinking already. 'Murica!
  25. Wow. The news article makes no sense but the comments below it are great! http://www.nbc-2.com/story/33917026/nbc2-investigation-legally-buying-guns-you-cant-legally-carry Here's Town Hall's response: http://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2016/12/07/embarrassing-local-nbc-report-implies-you-need-to-obtain-a-carry-permit-in-order-to-own-a-gun-in-florida-n2256535
