  1. It does nothing to promote us as stable gun owners.
  2. Gas leaks from all over an AR. They kinda work that way. A bit from the front won't matter and the carbon will seal much of it after a hundred rounds or so.
  3. All but one of my guns are MADE IN THE USA. Yeah I own a Taurus, I have say it works very well though. I really need to replace it with an American carry pistol though. Just out of principal. I drive a Chevy SUV too.
  4. Cyclingforum.com, techy cycling stuff and some left leaners I spar with. Good smart folks. Cyclingnews.com from the land down under. Drudgereport.com. Of course.
  5. Wanted a hunting rifle that would p%#^ off the left wing.
  6. 20 years USAF, Armament. Retired in 06.
  7. Houge over mold in realtree for my .270WSM M70.
  8. Family in NOLA. I love ACME too.
  9. ARs are not normally bench guns and the chamber/throat gets abused in normal use when compared to bolt guns. IMHO bore guides are of little value for an AR. Plus there is no need to worry about solvents and such getting in the FCG of an AR.

If you hunt and want the option to more quietly chamber rounds in the field the FA can be handy. Even if you don't it does not hurt if it is there, ya just never know. Having it but needing it is no big deal, not having it and needing it could make for a terrible day...
  11. Welcome, 308ARs are like a big ole mufallata, ya keep going back for more.
  12. I like the grip. I find the a2 grip to shallow. My R25 is fantastically accurate but the trigger has the longest creep in the safe. I deer hunt with mine and wrap the entire forearm with soft camo tape because it rings like a bell at the slightest touch or tap. Good job on the camo job. How about a color list?
  13. Pick a Bushy Elite. Lots of scope for the money. You may not find a need to spend more after getting one.
  14. I have had an R25 for about 1.5 years. I have never had a single issue with mine. I have the little 4round mag that came with it and Pmags. All work. Mine feeds and cycles with every thing I have fed it. It also shoots .5 MOA, all day long using my hand loads. It was tight when I first got it but after a few hundred round through it, it has smoothed right up. The gritty feel of it cycling is in part caused by the much stronger spring and longer pull of the charging handle when compared to a AR15. They won't feel the same, no way no how. I feel the trigger sucks, .2 inches of creep is not conducive to good field accuracy. I was not confident with the stock charging handle so I got a BCM gunfighter. The Burris PEPR gave me the correct optics height. The camo will scratch so I put electrical a strip of electrical tape along the comb of the stock so the CH would not mess it up.
  15. I wrap my junk. :) Really I wrap the entire front end of my R25. 1. I keeps the rifle quiet as I move and position it while hunting. The aluminum FFT on the R25 is like a bell, even sliding a hand along it is loud. Many of my stands are metal and instead of covering every one of them in pipe insulation I wrap my rifle. This includes the barrel, when deer hunting barrel heat is not an issue. 2. The "soft sticks to itself" wrap I use cuts glare. 3. In the event of a field injury I have a handy source for bandage material. One less thing to go into the "go to bag".
  16. Cycling, road like that uno baller from Texas. Hunting, deer, small game, preds, you name it. For the last two summers I have spent a weekend riding across SC to raise money for Altzheimers at a pretty good pace. I used to do the pro/am USA Cycling thing many moons ago.
  17. I shoot a .270WSM bolt gun, that is a lot of smash on a thinned out AR bolt head. The .308Win is MUCH softer on the rifle. Unless the bolt and barrel extension was designed from the CAD up to support the WSM case I would be concerned about the life of the "party".

    Hi from SC

I hunt with a R25, good shooting rifle. Looking for BUIS but the ? is which set has the correct height? The trigger needs help, way to much creep for hunting rifle. On a budget and concerned about reliabilty.
