  1. Agreed on this point. Until it comes to that extreme, I'm going to try and elect the lesser of the assholes.
  2. I'm confused why anybody would be just as comfortable with Obama as Romney. Especially gun owners. This guy has come out and said he will reinstitute an AWB. Do I think Mitt Romney is a liar? Yes. He's a politician. But he didn't come right out and say he would reinstitute an AWB either. If Obama gets re-elected, he'll most likely replace two more Supreme Court Justices. When that happens, you can bet your right to bear arms will dimish severely. That may not matter to you, but it sure's poop matters to me. When they take our guns, the rest of our freedoms are next, and there's jack poop you can do about it. Of course that's just my opinion.
  3. I can certainly understand voicing your frustrations, and you are free to do so. The problem with that is what happened with George Bush Sr, Ross Perot, and Bill Clinton when Clinton won and served two terms. The conservative vote was split and Bill took it and we had to endure 8 years of that dipshit's reign including an Assault Weapons Ban that (thank God) had a sunset provision of 10yrs. I am not one to tell you or anybody how to vote. You do your own thing. Just keep in mind how many more people may feel this way, and decide to "make their opinions known." Unfortunately the only thing they will succeed in doing is take the vote away from the lesser of the idiots so that the bigger idiot gets re-elected. That's a sad reality, and one that will shoot all gun owners in the foot.
  4. Thanks again.
  5. I'll email him. I'm not doing a number of EBR conversions, just one. I bought the Sage chassis while on leave with the impression that the barrel was medium contour. It turned out to be a heavy contour which was a no-go for the chssis that was bought. This will be a one-off thing we're doing. If we can't rent/borrow the tools, most likely we will just get the Troy MCS chassis and save ourselves the heartache.
  6. I didn't get to see the debate. What was your opinions on it? I read on Drudgereport that they were tied, but WTF is that supposed to mean exactly? I think it was a HUGE mistake letting Candy Crowley moderate. Especially when she was quoted as saying "A Romney Ryan ticket would be a death wish ticket". Are you serious? How in the fornicate was she allowed to moderate? Anybody shocked when she absolutely had to run her suck and defend O about the "Acts of terror" comment? Whether she/they lied or not, what your unknowing public saw on TV was that Romney was "wrong". That kind of poop really pisses me off.
  7. Also, it will be a dedicated optics set-up. Not sure what we're going to do with the front sight. I guess it depends on which chassis we go with.
  8. Thanks for the advice guys. Here are our options: Buy the tools and gauges required to do the swap for approx $500-700. Buy a Troy MCS Chassis (that accomodates heavy contour barrels) for $520. Since we already have the Sage chassis, I was hoping somebody might have the tools we can "rent" or borrow.
  9. We have a 21" heavy contour barrelled M14 but a Sage chassis for the light/medium contour. We have a light contour 18" barrel now, but unfortunately NOBODY here has the tools to do it. We tried the big repair shop at Bagram, Kabul, and even the Army Marksmanship guys' gunsmith don't have the tools anymore. We got a quote from the guys at Phoenix, but he's writing a list for tools we don't really need. (flash hider pliers etc.) Besides the action wrench, receiver block, and headspace gauges, what other tools are really needed? Is there a place (or person) we can rent them from? Thanks.
  10. I don't blame you in the least brother. It seriously piqued my interest initially, I just hope they release a non-fore end/non-monolith version of the upper receiver, as that was the only thing holding me back.
  11. Oddly enough, when I clicked on the youtube link, there was a pro-obama ad right before it. I'm getting tired of seeing that motherfuckers face on the adverts on the side when I check hotmail too.
  12. They're both politicians, and I've been voting for the lesser of the idiots for awhile now. I'm glad O got his ass handed to him and made to look as incompetant as he truly is. I bet he kept praying for a teleprompter and wouldn't be surprised if he has an earbud next debate, with a smarter administration official feeding him answers. I'm hoping at some point if there's an argument about the Economy, Romney brings up the 5 Billion that O illegally bypassed congress to give to the mooslim brotherhood, (with an additional 450mil for them that was shot down recently as well) so that they can kickstart Egypt's "democracy". Something that goes COMPLETELY AGAINST muslim IDEAOLOGY!!!!
  13. Dammit. You're going to make me re-consider it aren't you. I love the versatility, I just don't want to get stuck with one type of (.308) upper.
  14. I initially wanted one and thought it'd make a great multi-cal platform. Not to mention, you could SBR that receiver, and then go with an SBR'd 5.56, .300BLK, .308. Then you could also have a long range 5.56, .308, or .338Federal. All in one platform. The reason I decided against it was that I didn't like the idea of the monolithic proprietary upper. I don't need rails all over the place, and would prefer to use my preferred handguards for the .308 upper. Who knows, maybe if they make it available with spare upper receivers that are non-monolithic.
  15. Don't even get me started on BB gun wars. No eyepro either? God was definitely protecting us from ourselves. I'd light my kid up if I saw him doing that now.
  16. Smart kid. Awesome that he's shown enough initiative and smarts to be promoted o that position.
  17. Had it not been for that gun, whispering evil into that psychopath's ear, none of that would've happened. On a seperate note, I went to a gun show in Norfolk, and while waiting in line, was by the table where two uniforms were verifying safe and clear before zip tying the weapons coming in. I saw a styrofoam coffee cup filled with various bullets and asked, "What are those for?" The cop said, "These are the bullets from all the 'unloaded' guns". Some people really don't deserve to have guns, but who am I to pick and choose.
  18. I think airsoft definitely has a place in training. I'll be teaching my boy fundamentals with a pistol and rifle with airsoft first. That way if he inadvertantly sweeps/muzzles anyone or has his finger on the trigger, it'll be less of a threat before I get on his case about it. I wish we had airsoft when I was growing up. All we had was "guns" that really didn't provide an accountability for shots whatsoever. Damn, those were the days. Cops weren't called because a bunch of kids were running around the neighborhood with toy guns. I'm forbidding my kid from doing it lest he gets shot by some trigger happy maniac.
  19. Good. I hope more states follow suit.
  20. Agreed. That's why I won't live in WA, CA, NY, RI, MD, HI, I'm sure I'm missing a few. I had to fill out that form to move my family and 3 stamps to TX so it's no big deal. I'll be filling another one out for a shoot in Mar that I go to while on leave. That being said, I'd love to settle down in Wyoming. SBR whatever you want without having to file NFA paperwork. Roger that.
  21. The great thing about getting the SDN-6, is you can use it on a .300BLK build, or even on your 5.56. It'll still suppress, but won't be as optimal as a dedicated caliber can. Also, if you are planning on taking your NFA items out of whatever state your living in, whether it's just for a shoot, or you're moving, you need to inform the NFA first via ATF Form 5320.20: http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5320-20.pdf
  22. The Editor (Jerry Tsai) who made that comment has resigned. Who didn't see that coming. Also the dipshit that made those other comments (Joe Galloway) was let go of. Let's see how rocky the slope is that Recoil will have to climb, just to dig their way out of the hole they've dug for themselves.
  23. Due to recent events, I'm wondering how many "blue dog" Dems are reconsidering their political affiliation. Granted I'm a Libertarian, but will always vote for the lesser of two evils.
  24. Who are we kidding? The DNC could give a poop.
  25. Joe Galloway should have just STFU before running his suck and posting his comment. Trying to pass it off as HK's statement (which HK later issued a statement stating that wasn't what they said at all) really made them look like incomptetant asses. Suck it up, take the hit, and roll forward. Don't shift blame to cover your fornicate up.
