  1. I know I sound like a broken record, but please continue to donate to pro-2nd amendment groups. Being a member isn't enough anymore.
  2. You are right about the elected officials finding away to arm the police. They will! Even if ever U.S manufacturer stopped selling, you can bet FN, HK, and other foreign companies will throw their hat in the ring. It's one thing to hold individual LEOs to the same Laws as private citizens because they are citizens just like you, it's another thing to think that the Federal, State, and Municipal Governments are going to abide by any such set of laws. What we absolutely do not want to happen is the pro-2nd amendment movement to appear irrational, combative, vindictive, and threatening. The world is watching and for every cool headed person that brings a logical argument to the Left, there is some guy talking about disarming police or bunkering down with his SHTF rifle and years supply of canned goods in a storm shelter. We have got to stop arguing amongst ourselves about poop that ain't gonna make any true impact and get ourselves, our family, our friends, and co-workers politically engaged in this. The left is of one mind....take all guns. Meanwhile we are applauding that some Rural Deputy in NewYork can't buy a CMMG poop box rifle.
  3. If you check out most gun forums, some are using this just to trash LEOs. It is quite comical. No sane person gets into LE thinking they will be liked or even popular.
  4. I hear you. As a LEO, I loved a well armed law abiding citizen. I hope that these officers are voicing their displeasure to their first and second line supervisors. Sadly, the guys that are feeling the pressure from this are the small and medium sized departments outside of the liberal enclaves. Patrol officers that will get to your house or child's school first are the ones that are feeling this. As bad as it is to say, that is a good thing since there are more guys like them than they are like me. Large departments are loaded with class III weapons, suppressors, and all the other goodies that they issue to their officers. Those are the reasons I say that until the brand name big boys get on board, this will only be so effective.
  5. Frowning as I uncomfortably set down my glass of Chardonay. :'(
  6. Highlarryus
  7. With hands and forearms like that, it is quite possible...
  8. I am liking the stock. Although I am a bit of a Magpul slut, I have never warmed up to the PRS. This may be my fixed stock compromise.
  9. Classy. We should continue to win popular support for our cause rather than beating the war drums waiting on our Lexington and Concord. It pushes people who are on the fence to the othher side. Posting and reposting articles from Abovetopsecret, beforeitsnews and such websites hurts us as well. The minute that some pro second amendment guy or group starts shooting at politicians and LEOs, any support we have is lost and LEOs will come out of the woodwork to avenge another officer. We will win this in the political and popular opinion arena. Keep in mind that the liberals are watching how we comport ourselves.
  10. As stated before, we need some of the major players to jump on board if this is to have any real impact. Glock, Colt, S&W, and Sig would really hurt. So far, York, Spikes, Olympic and Larue, while all good companies, really don't sell a helluva lot to State and Local Agencies compared to the big name brands.
  11. CO is a blue state now. Magpul should move regardless of this particular bill.
  12. Their barrels are their best parts no doubt about that. Yes, the States that are passing useless laws deserve what they are getting and could use a bit more. Like you said, LEOs are the collateral damage in the equation. Sad but true. The disturbing part is that in most of the NRA classes, comps and gatherings ....you see it filled with flag waving, gun lovin police officers, but somehow in this whole debate, the animosity towards the police continues to grow. Is it because of the weapons we are issued (do not own) or because we were exempted from the magazine restrictions from the last AWB, as if we had something to do with that? ThOse weapons are our work tools and while most talk about their SHTF guns and home defense many of us leave our homes and go looking for a fan to through poop into here and abroad. LEOs don't run around thinking that the subguns or SBRs we have place us in a better position to take your guns when our political masters crack the paycheck whip...nor does the military. In almost 20 years no officer, liberal or conservative, has EVER uttered a phase similar to that to me or a colleague. We, like many in the military, love our freedom, but cherish yours even more. People can talk about limiting Police Officers and Federal Agents equipment all they desire, but LEO, .mil and .gov will get the equipment from somewhere. The argument is unrealistic and those efforts will be short lived. So why vilify LEO and try to limit their ability to carry out their duties, especially since they are not standing in the way of your rights. The beef is with politicians, lets keep the pressure there.
  13. I applaud there efforts, but in this case NY LEO are probably safer not fielding their weapons. LEOs are not the enemy here. Most cops support gun rights and the Second Amendment. I support this companies right to do this as well as LaRue, but don't don't see where the impact will be made.
  14. Lets just hope this radical leftist cop killer is roasting in those flames right now. Another Leo dead at his hands. I bet within 24 hours there will be bloggers talking about how the .gov set the cabin on fire to silence the wronged American Hero...... Nothing like the unrestrained amateur media in this country.
  15. It's so crazy, it just might work. ;D
  16. Excellent. Who are the idiots showing up with signs with "don't kill Dorner" on them? Where were these tender hearts when they could have said "Dorner, don't kill anyone"? <munch>. Can't wait to see which lucky team gets to go in and apprehend him!
  17. The reasonableness standard applies. I don't think any le reading this expects a private citizen to stand there and get assassinated by rogue police officers applying deadly force when simple verbal commands would suffice. As in any gunfight, there is a chance you will die. One only have one life on this earth use it wisely.
  18. All parties in that case were police officers. If a warrant is present, then there is probable cause. There are probable cause arrests, which the court recognizes. If the probable cause was weak or insufficient then a suppression hearing and or PC hearing will expose that. The above is an over simplification of the Bad Elk Case and does not justify killing a police officer in execution of a lawful arrest in any of the 50 United States. I know that this discussion centers around bad cops over stepping their lawful authority. I wanted to add this in for people who may be reading this thinking that the SCOTUS decision says that an Officer in Proper Pursuit of His duties can be resisted with deadly force.
  19. Well the police are not the enemy. There are some crappy cops out there, but I would say that the majority of cops (I know many members here are law enforcement) are strong 2nd Amendment supporters and believe in a strict adherence to the Constitution. Dorner and the trigger happy LAPD Officers are the minority. I try not to second guess Police Officers who have been in shootings, but it is hard to see any justification in the Perdue truck shooting.
  20. They were acquitted of murder, but were convicted of other charges. Don't get me wrong, it was a poop sandwich for everyone, but there is a lot of revisionist history on the part of those opposed to the FBI and ATF. People died on both sides needlessly. I encourage anyone to FOIA as much as they can. The Davidians could have surrendered to LE and worked out all those issues instead of carrying on that the second coming was upon them because the Govt had laid siege to the compound. I am fine with anyone who conspires with a foreign power to commit terror against this Country to die a violent/horrible death, U.S. Citizen or not. If we can eliminate them without putting our guys in harms way then I see that as a good use of tax money.....especially compared to entitlement programs. You give up due process when you leave the U.S. and conspire with the enemy. I can't image Thomas Jefferson or John Adams disagreeing with me on that. In regards to Dorner, I really don't care about his fate. I just hate to see tax money spent year after year while he blames everyone else but himself for his actions and failures.
  21. Well, the skiing is nice and their women are kinky....at least they were in the 90s.
  22. Just for that, I am going to buy an STR and a PRS....right freaking now.
