  1. And they say evil doesn't exist.........
  2. I am not sure there are any liberals in Franklin County. It's a different world up there. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  3. While this is substantially true based on the fact that Sheriffs are Constitutional Officers in the majority of the states, I think we must keep in mind that not all Sheriffs are created equal. Each election cycle fewer and fewer Sheriffs emerge from the ranks of career lawmen and more and more become political. So what's the big deal with that you may ask. Well..... This brings up the possibility of selective enforcement which if you have seen it play out in small town USA you know that it is nothing short of Tyrannical. The best defense to a ban is for one never to take place. Get active with your wallets, voices, and local groups. I know I beat this dead horse, but I am fool hearty enough to believe we as gun owners and patriots can beat this without relying on yet another elected official (sheriff) to be the keeper of rights given to us by Almighty God.
  4. The last paragraph was pure poetry. <lmao>
  5. $69.00 I have never bought an Ambi. I guess you could say I don't go both ways. :P
  6. Sinclair International (from Brownells) has them around 2.50 per. They are good quality.
  7. Moral of the story is.....Don't be mess'n round somebody else's house or you could get seriously hurt.....or dead. Grand Juries appear to be seeing it that way more and more. <thumbsup>
  8. Original Post.....too soap box-ish. Great Article.
  9. I hate they are leaving, but if they had to go somewhere outside the U.S., the country that invented Port wine isn't the worst place to go.
  10. I don't use that dog $h#t Credit Card anyways.....guess it is time to cancel.
  11. Training evolves as each agency realizes the tragedies of fallen officers along with limited time and resources for training. I believe the old course to be marksmanship heavy with the majority of the shots taken from 15 yards and beyond. This isn't much different than most other DOJ/DHS/DOI agencies other than some started close and worked out and a few started farther out and worked in. When I initially began my law enforcement career, the agency I was with shot from the 50 yard line, which many of you know is unheard of these days. Great for marksmanship, not so great for skinning that weapon and dropping lead pills into a bad guy. The course's only saving grace was that we started at the 1.5 yard line and worked back to the 50 yard line. Now looking at what has happened here is really no different than what other state and municipal departments have done. They have formulated a qualification course which combines combat skills with a marksmanship component...with an emphasis on combat. Which of those is more important is subject to much debate. I am not shy in saying that if you master the basic marksmanship skills then all things can added to your tool box with work and repetition. It has been my limited experience that shootouts don't happen in a slow fire bullseye environment. Keep in mind that you guys are talking about an organization that has hired cops and military personnel as an afterthought for well over a decade. Teaching pediatricians, scientist, and investment bankers how to be cops and aggressive is not as easy as it sounds. I have worked with numerous agencies and departments over my career and have always taken the opportunity to shoot their qualifications courses with an open mind. In doing so, I have encountered state and locals that turned pistols into precision instruments in their hands and some feds that couldn't even qualify, also is true for the inverse. I believe the combat focus to be a good thing. There have been too many Agents shot or shot at during high risk warrant service where SWAT wasn't employed. This should never be tolerated and should be ONLY answered with aggressive/violent tactics to mitigate the threat.
  12. I will be on Annual Leave that week.
  13. From what I gather, he wasn't on meth and he is still alive. That is the way it goes, though. Criminals survive the damnedest shooting, but Officers get killed all the time by some dumb luck shot.
  14. Good call. I have never regretted one penny spent at DSG.
  15. It is too bad this lady and I are married (not to each other, of course). I could love a woman like this. :P
  16. My only regret is that I have not spent any money with these guys. That will change going forward. <thumbsup>
  17. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/woman-hiding-kids-shoots-intruder/nTm7s/ These are so heart warming.
  18. Ahhhh....nothing says MITIGATED THREAT like a hand full of .45 ACP wound channels.
  19. Lets hope this turns into a reality! I saw on there where they were talking about doing some 308 BCGs as well. This is almost as nice as being invited to be a stunt double in a porn movie.
  20. My prayers are with his family. He was the first among equals in the AR game.
  21. Damn glad I had breakfast before reading that. It would have made me hungry.
  22. I wouldn't want any deputy, agent, officer, security guard or private citizen, shooting bad guys with anything but hollow points. Unless they come out with something more lethal....at that point I will be willing to change my stance.
  23. Only new guys and the breachers carry the ole 12ga. We ain't hunting deer where we are going....... <laughs> Jokes aside....Slugs, OO, OOO, and reduced recoil for the smaller statures...the 12 ga adds up too.
  24. Both Agencies have 1811 Special Agents (Criminal Investigators) that are required to be qualify 4 times per year with a variety of weapons systems.
  25. Oh and the stuff is kept a very very very long time. I am still shooting 168gr SMK from the early 1990s....(for practice of course). It shoots great for the record.
