  1. I read this and then I start to feel better about Feinstein's AWB bill getting dumped in the crapper at the Capitol. These people dragged their feet on a bipartisan farm bill. Lets not forget about the Fiscal Cliff, Budget, Entitlement Reforms, etc. I am starting to wonder what bills get passed.
  2. I wouldn't know first hand, but this tactic must have come right out of the Communist Manifesto. Must be nice to live in a country where the press is free and unbiased.....too bad none of us live in that country.
  3. I am starting to think that maybe this whole anti-gun thing may be designed to mitigate a perceived threat from a certain segment of the population.
  4. I am keeping a running list of online dealers who increased their prices (outrageously) in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting so that I never do business with them again. Many people with say that is basic economics, but that argument loses weight when DSG, Brownells, Midway, and the like are still selling them at regular prices. Please don't get me wrong, I don't mind people adjusting prices based on supply and demand, but there were some companies that doubled and tripled their prices within a day or two of the shooting.
  5. While pondering your potential membership in the local Militia, please do not forget to keep your NRA and Gun Owners of America dues up. I know both of these organizations have their flaws (PITA to be exact), but since everyone in Washington, DC has shown they are for sale, we might as well support organizations that can rent them for our cause.
  6. That is one of the best I have read. I sent it around to un-like minded friends.
  7. Hopefully someone will suggest mental illness control instead of gun control. We have no mechanism to deal with mentally ill people. Although, I don't expect Congress to take up that legislation since most of them may be subject to it based on their actions in the past couple of years. .
  8. For range and 3-gun, I believe it to be superior. In a tactical environment, when crossing door thresholds, it is not so easy to maintain or always utilize with any measure of consistency. Sample of one here, others may disagree.
  9. Go with the one you like the looks of best. They both are loud on a pistol.
  10. Oh and the double oven in the background looks awesome, too. I could have used one of those last week.
  11. That is a virtual cornucopia of badassery.
  12. I had the exact same issue with my TRX. I emailed troy and they said not to exceed the usually reported 80ft lbs because you run the risk of damaging the upper. I loosened and tightened the nut many many many times with lots of moly grease. I ended up with a final 65 ft lbs of torque for alignment. It sounds like you are almost ready for some range time.
  13. I only have the Go/No-Go. I know some people recommend having all three. I am guessing you will be building from scratch so Go/No-Go will meet all your needs.
  14. I purchased the DPMS Claw after looking at several of those. I looked at the PRI and I am sure it would have worked, but I kept thinking how sick I would feel if I snapped that $124 upper receiver during the build trying to save a few bucks. You will be happy that you have that extra polymer of the Claw jammed up in the upper receiver when you start laying the torque to the barrel nut. Whether it be automotive, woodworking or firearms tools, you will rarely regret buying the best tools you can afford. I recommended these on the other thread as well..... the PRI barrel nut wrenches are pretty good to have for both 308 and 556. You can use both 1/2 and 3/8 torque wrenches with them. Washguy hit it right. A good brass hammer and a nice set of punches will serve you well though the years. My wife bought me a jewelers hammer that was brass on one side of the head and delrin (sp) on the other side. Good luck with the build.
  15. TM-10 with Rainier Select 18 inch, 168gr gmm @100 yards through a universal night scope paired with M-223 3-12.
  16. Yes. Get the gauges. The chance of you ever finding a headspace issue is slim, but those are not odds I would want to play. Cheap face insurance.
  17. Excellent choice in barrels. I purchased the 18 inch Select and although I was skeptical about the accuracy claims, I must say it has been every bit a sub-MOA barrel (168gr GMM).
  18. PRI Barrel Nut Wrench is a solid unit to have in the tool box.
  19. I agree with MikedaddyH. All I got out of that was...... bye bye OTM 220 gr at $16 bucks per box.
