  1. After watching a few recent videos, I'm sold. The easy ambi change configuration is the number one reason (son is left handed). I love the SAR, even with my long arms, so a .308 version is a must.
  2. The purchase of simple security cameras on my property just took a backseat.
  3. Yup, about 20 minutes away.
  4. Doubt I will invest but still sounds nice.
  5. Happy New Year! 2018 will be a good year for a Benelli M4 purchase and catching up on a few optics that should have been bought a long time ago.
  6. I decided to go with Brownells for an X-22 Backpacker when the price dropped to $90. I've been in love with the Backpacker since holding a few at the NRA Convention this year. Nice job as usual by Magpul. Any other ideas here for where to go for a high end barrel (trigger, etc...) besides what has been posted? I don't want to go crazy but would like something better than a standard Ruger 10/22. I looked at Volquartsen products but DSG had a great sale on a Tactical Solutions combo earlier this year. It sells for over $750 but they had it below $600 at one point. Should have bought it then. https://www.magpul.com/products/firearms-accessories/buttstocks/x-22-backpacker-stock-ruger-10-22-takedow https://dsgarms.com/tstte-02-nostk
  7. Stole it back from my wife ? Blade heavy for balance which isn't a surprise but very nicely done.
  8. No problem. I believe Full30 has been around a few years but it takes some time to get something like this up and running smoothly. They are now saying their mobile app will be out soon. The site is pretty simple but well done. Word of mouth is a strong tool. I may not like some of the (Youtube) guys getting banned or getting a "strike" against them, which could mean the loss of their channel, but the reasons are ridiculous. It's nice to see alternatives pop up.
  9. There are a lot of complaints on social media about the obvious bias and increased banning of pro 2A videos on Youtube. Have any others been following this and the emerging video site Full30? It seems to be in its infancy but it's a good alternative place to view videos that are likely right in our wheelhouse and from many popular people already established on Youtube. Between moves made by Youtube, Facebook, and others, there are fewer and fewer places to go for firearms enthusiasts. *Strictly mentioning for the video section which is their bread and butter...screw the forum. This is the place to be for that https://www.full30.com
  10. Sorry to hear that. Sounds like a total pain in the ass to deal with.
  11. Good question and tough to find but wasn't aware before you mentioned it. I still don't own anything from them. I heard their quality is pretty good but their products should be made stateside considering much of the competition is.
  12. It seems their R&D department is handcuffed to their desks. Strike is on overdrive putting out new stuff all the time. I like their new minimalist stock. My arms are too long for a lot of the pdw stocks anyways.
  13. I've been seeing the retail rumored to be $2200+. The good is the 7 merges the best of the SAR and X95. The SAR prices have plummeted. I won't be in line first for the 7. I'll wait a few years to see if it pans out as reliable and the price drops below $2k. I'm happy with my regular SAR with Geiselle bow/pack and handguard mods for now.
  14. Thanks, guys. Things are great but hectic...wife went back to work (*finally) so it's been an adjustment period with childcare and schedule. Hope everything is well for you all. That is the stock blade in packaging. The owner of the company is a great former IDF guy and was awesome with the custom laser engraving. He did overlays to show exactly how it would look. I'll post when I have it in hand. Wife stole it as a Christmas present once it arrived last week.
  15. http://www.recoilweb.com/pof-revolution-128950.html http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/08/08/pof-usa-revolution-wins-2017-firearms-industry-choice-award-rifle-year/ Not much available for torture tests that I would put any weight into but I've been keeping an eye on this one. It's a beautiful rifle but I'm hesitant buying into it even with a very reasonable sale price of about $2200. I got a chance to handle quite a few of their gen 4 rifles at the NRA '17 Convention and they've come a long way, especially at reducing what was once a very front heavy rifle.
  16. My first knife, beyond a Benchmade, that I've spent quite a bit on. It's a custom Lotar Kobra and came out pretty nice but definitely has an aggressive look that may not appeal to everyone. I needed something too nice to edc but can cut strings of my pants...I'm going to try and get a limited run knife or hawk from RMJ next year.
  17. Didn't you hear? The great and all powerful (Scientologist) Cruise will no doubt grow taller and be blessed with superpowers when the apocalypse is upon us. Reacher is just training for him to keep those reflexes up
  18. The Cobalt Kinetics AR15s are pretty damn sexy looking but the price tag is unfortunately through the roof. They are priced way too high like War Sport and a few others that I'm seeing recently.

    13 Hours

Just recently saw the Fox interview and am currently reading the book. The three main contractors seem very credible. I look forward to seeing the movie. It's a horrible situation they had to contend with and being hung out to dry.
  20. I had a PWS and went with a JP adjustable. I was still playing around with it (fine tuning) when it got pretty damn cold where I am. I've been thoroughly impressed at the fit, finish, and how they have engineered the adjustable component(s). I had a few light strikes that I was experiencing and am still trying to figure if it was the ammo or the block needing further adjustment. I think it was the ammo due to the inconsistencies.
  21. Oh come on....you cheap bastards don't like LaRue lol ;) ?
  22. http://www.seekinsprecision.com/parts-and-accessories/handguards/mcsr-rail.html Matching Seekins Precision 15 inch MCSR V2 M-Lok hanguard. My goal was to cover as much of the barrel as possible and it did exactly that. I'm very happy with it and it's pretty light even though the overall build is not ultralight.
