  1. If he has pics of his work, please post or PM me. That sounds fair and its a great look if done properly.
  2. On this topic of painting/refinishing, I've read many different opinions but can anyone recommend from experience what should I do to prep a SS barrel for duracoat? Some say rough it up with steel wool or sandpaper. Also, my gas block is tight as can be without adding a layer. How do you handle that issue? Shibi, you sound way more willing with cerokating than me. Please post pics if you get around to it soon. It sounds like a big chore though. My artistic side is a bit rusty. I'm probably better off splashing mud on and rolling around on the ground with mine.
  3. Various cerakote camo patterns are phenomenal looking. There were very few companies that originally did it once basic cerokoting caught on but that has changed in the last few years. The problem is patterns/camos can be very pricey to have done professionally and I wouldn't try a complex pattern on a rifle I like. I just bought the duracoat matte black aerosol product and am hoping for the best. I plan to do one stripped receiver group, a barrel, and a few other small items. Many swear by duracoat as a cost effective and durable product. I have no prior experience with it.
  4. I looked into both, particularly the 458, but ammo prices were too much of a concern so I passed.
  5. MechArmor CH is impressive. I'll be able to judge better after some shooting drills but it looks gtg. Thanks for the recommendation.
  6. Very good price. I feel your pain. I think I need to play a few scratch tickets today and hope for the best.
  7. Troy Ind. is hopping aboard the July 4th select few 20% off sale until the 6th. Good deal for a few big purchases ;) Enter: TROYFREEDOM
  8. Tame but funny
  9. Nice! They have Black Friday quality sales going on until the 5th. Great deals. I could drop a grand right now if I had it.
  10. I'm having serious twitches over the thought about not buying that Primary Arms SSA-E trigger w/the 20% discount! I already spent about $600 over the last few weeks so I need to chill and wait until the fall but it's so hard.
  11. I had a bad start to my morning so I soothed the savage beast by finding a sale and spending nearly $300 :binkybaby: . I bought a few Seekins Precision parts. Two melonited rifle length gas tubes, their safety selector in black, and their low mass BCG. *Optics Planet (I know certain guys here hate them but I've always had luck through them). 10% off and free S&H.
  12. DSG ARMS is one of my favorite reliable websites. Small sale but sale nonetheless.
  13. I hear ya. My knowledge of that is limited. I haven't finalized what type of barrel yet. I like a few of the Noveske barrels but there are plenty out there that are about as good or better for cheaper. The only definite is I want to keep it at 14.5. I won't ever be running this suppressed so that makes gas block and some smaller choices easier.
  14. With the buffer, what are recommendations for it? I used a heavy buffer on my AR308 and love it. I know Clint has them for AR15s but is it a bit of an overkill? I don't want to deal with the typical springing noise of a standard buffer/spring in this but was also considering a JP Silent Captured Spring.
  15. We seem to be on a similar "page" here. I have an odd curiosity with Sharps' products. This one is probably their best in my opinion. I think a refinished one with the right upper could be a real attention grabber. However, probably not exactly a good idea to make it a go-to gun just in case a person ever has to defend themself in this libtard society.
  16. I was thinking the same thing after seeing it. It seems that it's reinforced enough with the billet design to do that. There are many out and about being custom cerakoted to give that appearance though with a white skull.
  17. Feel free to speak up if someone else already put this out but I couldn't find it. Sharps has at least 3 very unique lower receivers out now. They're pricey but there aren't many lowers on the market with as much creativity. I came across this one today and thought it was worth mentioning for those that like something different. http://sharpsbros.com/the-jack/
  18. Thank you, I decided to buy it for that great price. I was definitely considering a larger charging handle anyways and initially put a BMCGunfighter CH high on my list. I like the look of the raptor but thought it's a bit too compact for what I wanted.
  19. Well I finally got off my @ss and started making some progress with an expected finish time around April '16. That's largely due to the bank account depleting quality parts I plan on putting into this little monster. I'm starting with a Seekins Precision SP223 lower and their IRMT-R upper. This is what I have as tentative ideas on some of the rest: *I'm staying clear of the shiny look for BCG and barrel, etc... Seekins Precision MCSR M-Lok Rail System 12” Seekins Precision Low Mass Bolt Carrier Group Magpul CTR stock and MOE or MIAD Magpul grip Clint Buffer LPK and buffer tube will probably be standard leading manufacture quality stuff but I haven’t decided on the brand. Undecided for a charging handle Undecided for a 14.5” barrel medium weight match grade barrel Undecided for iron sights Undecided for a comp or brake This will likely be my AR15 "Eleanor" so I'm not putting any temporary low quality stuff in. I will buy the handguard within a month or so and send the handguard, receiver group set, and maybe a few other smaller parts out for cerakoting. I envision a black and either OD green or gray combo look. There are a few other colors I'm thinking of so I'm not jumping the proverbial gun just yet. Unforunately, the time lapse in buying the upper and lower receiver parts has made this color thing a must for me because the anodizing is "off" but that's also the super anal retentive side of me too. I'd appreciate some recommendations. Thank you
  20. Through a screen? Damn, I have trouble w/that in person.
  21. Very impressive. I'll have my eye on that piece for the future ;)

I'll need a little more time to finish American Sniper, which I just started, but that is now tops on my list. From what others have said, the movie is fairly close to the book with the exception of a few things at the end.

I finally watched it last night. What an incredible movie, one of the best I've seen in a while. The actors did a very good job with their roles. The ending as a whole was difficult to watch because it was so moving. Also, I have never been to a movie that had received so many applause at its conclusion.
