  1. I just bought the one for 200 and a Seekins opened up for 170 just after our last post. That's 2 for me. I am officially maxed out for the year. Only gun talk no gun stuff buying. After the 308 and those 2 I would be jeopardizing my marriage.
  2. Speaking of all this lower talk got me checking and impact guns is selling MAG lowers (223/5.56) for $200 right now. That is a fairly good price in today's market. The original sale price below 150 is very hard to get anywhere now, especially considering they're sale numbers are high.
  3. I looked into the whole polymer application on a light weight AR-15 with a pencil barrel. It would be fun to fire but my problem is still the whole idea of a polymer AR. I'm just not sold on the idea when you have a seemingly legit quality ultra light lower receiver on the market made by MAG. I plan on building a super light AR and if I were going to do it tomorrow it would be with a MAG. Who knows though...the polymer ones might be great. I don't think you can give a rigid opinion on the subject unless you've tried it and the company's competition.
  4. The bolt is sold. Thanks for any inquiries.
  5. I had a better deal right before the school shooting incident and I didn't take it but that price isn't bad for those specs. I'll keep an eye open for them, thanks.
  6. Disregard..all ready out of stock. Damn, finding lowers is like trying to find the end of a rainbow searching for that pot of gold. My principles keep me from paying double the value on GB.
  7. I noticed that last night. Anyone have any experience with this site and the quality on their lowers? Seems like a good deal.
  8. http://www.mountsplus.com/AR-15_Accessories/AR-15_Scope_Rings/AS-BT10-LW17.html Mounts Plus had them with a coupon code a bit cheaper than all that I found. However, their stuff is often out of stock and they don't tell you that until after the order. Atlas seems like a really good product but I have no hands on experience with them yet. I like the option to change out the leg bases too but that's even more $$$. I could have had the PRS stock by now for $245 but opted for the backorder from Arms Unlimited who had the cheapest price on it hands down than anyone else...$200.
  9. I have a Accu-Shot Atlas Bipod with ADM 170-S Lever (BT-10-LW17) and Magpul PRS 308 stock on backorder. I also have a Seekins Precision stripped lower on backorder but God only know when that little bastard will be available. I have Troy Ind. tritium iron sights in route after 5-6 wks of waiting. I have 2 sets of mag release assemblies from FA also coming after I accidently broke the previously installed one.
  10. Good site. It will be my light reading this weekend.
  11. Well...the good news is that I was finally able to complete the headspacing check. This came after at least a dozen failed attempts at completely stripping the bolt down. The problem came with trying to get the bolt roll pin out. That little bastard just would not come out. I learned that I simply wasn't putting enough pressure on it with the pin punch tool because I didn't want to brake the bolt components or the tool. ...the bad news is that my extra elbow grease was an overkill and while I rotated my hand, I pushed the pin completely into the palm of my right hand. Ya...it didn't feel good. I did manage to pick it out and finish and the rifle passed with flying colors. Of course, this was most likely going to be the case anyways but at least I have the peace of mind. Hopefully my hand doesn't get infected now.
  12. Ha...possibly but it's always better to be the misfits with the bigger guns.
  13. The AICS was the one I was referring to earlier. I priced one out and I started getting into the extra bells and whistles and the price tag went through the roof. I pulled the plug on that idea. Maybe someday when my gun "to buy list" gets smaller I'll revisit buying it. Unfortunately, that list grows more quickly than it shrinks.
  14. Ha...I know but good comment. I actually looked at a similar stock for a Remington 700 before and it was big bucks. That one looks a lot more high speed though.
  15. I couldn't agree more that this site is great and nearly everyone I have spoken to has been very helpful. Some other forums always seem to have the consistent snide comments by a number of members. My first few posts definately had some improper term references and yet I never got sh!t for it, only those that tried to help/educate.
  16. I like it but I like most things that fire bullets, rockets, etc... Looks like you need an engineering degree to work it. Also, let Michael Bay know one of his transformers escaped.
  17. I would be tempted to go through the atf form process if I went 300 BLK and with a USC. If you shortened a USC than the next stop down that road would be turning it into a grease gun mp5 clone...that has to be a 3000-4500 dollar investment though. Big bucks and you'd basically be storing a lot of high dollar components that wont be used.
  18. Ha...Don't tempt me Edge. If you still have it w/i the next 18 months max, I may definately take you up on that offer. After my .308 build is complete w/scope in the spring next year, I will be in the market. Just in time to save up for the Tromix buy in 2015 too, if I'm lucky. I keep a strick and busy gun buying calender lol.
  19. Thanks, Edge. I am long past having an addiction. I just bought an Atlas bipod. I had to follow suit with "only the best." At least it can be used on all rifles that I will be buying and building many years too come.
  20. Thanks. So far so good. Here's a question... I just got a nickel boron coated BCG from a co. They supposedly used to make them for KAC. Anyways, it seems to be a good quality product but I'm trying to check headspacing. There are no vids that I have seen that take the entire bolt apart. I have familiarity with taking the extractor out...obviously not hard to do. However, going the next step infuriated me last night and I had to give up so I didn't break something. The problem is getting the ejector out for proper headspace gauge checks. I followed 8541 Tactical MA Ten build series vid on headspacing but it didn't work. I used a handgun casing and clamp to push the ejector down and then used a 1/4 punch (think that's the one) to try and push the ejector pin out. That little SOB won't come out. In fact I couldn't even see it...wtf? I looked through the light and nothing there. I can see right through as if nothing is there. I still have tension when I took the clamp off so I couldn't have lost it. Bolt ejector still works. What am I doing wrong???
  21. I came across an Armalite 50A1 at my local gun store today. I had never seen one up close before. What a nice looking rifle. It was on display for a $100 per ticket raffle. I passed on that one. Now that is off topic, Robo. Anyways, I keep coming across lowers marked multi caliber. Is that just a special term being used for a lower that is capable of anything that doesn't require a bigger mag well?
  22. There are a few legit companies, not individual gougers, on GB. LORDOFWARINC sells DPMS BCGs for half of what others are getting. Nice guy and trying to stick it to the gougers. Granted they're not Armalites but just thought I'd mention it.
  23. The tough part is seeing if some of the big boys are playing ball with certain ammo. The 6.8 feels a bit forced but certain names have invested in it and seems good. The 300 BLK is following suit. The 6.5 is nice too but I would also fear about its longevity.
  24. BCG came today and I put on the barrel and Troy rail, etc... I absolutely love this beast. Still waiting for Magpul stock to come.

    Big bore

You're right, Spikes does have a nice one. The upper is reasonably priced too. I'm going to read up more on Spikes. I reaaaaallllyy like Noveske's though. It's pricey but not overly so and the barrels are great. I would just buy the upper.
