  1. No disrespect intended, but a purse is not the place to put a carry gun if your a woman. As Unforgiven mentioned, thats what the bad guy wants is the purse, and where is the gun? Also carrying a gun in a holster in a purse to keep objects out of the muzzle and to prevent A.D.'s may require you to use both hands to remove the pistol from the holster. Or just the opposite a gun without a holster and the woman draws out a pistol with a lipstick tube or tampon stuck in the barrel. Not to mention the time it would take for a woman to dig in her purse and try to find the gun somewhere in that portable Suitcase of a Pandora's Box also know as a purse.
  2. Follow Through :))
  3. He can :bj:
  4. I think your onto something, what happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas lol
  5. Daniel Defense, Spikes
  6. It wasn't a failure, it was an example of what not to do lol.
  7. Because in .308 that's all you need to get it right.
  8. Sounds as though you may want too think about taking a small bore brush and spin it inside the area it may help remove / polish any burrs.
  9. As an option look into Hart, Lilja, and Criterion barrels. Are you returning or selling that 18" Noveske

Thanks for that link, I need to send the Champion Operator in and have it redone.
  11. Yeah I run Mag-Pul Metal BUIS so guess I'd better stick with Q/D.
  12. So I hate the knob that comes on the Aim Point Pro's so I've been looking at getting a Q/D mount. So I have to ask myself when I see a quality mount like the Aero Precision for say $30.00 that is not a Q/D and I look at Larue and ADM for $100.00 + is the Q/D on a patrol rifle really necessary? I have never taken the Aimpoint off of my current duty rifle that is being replaced with my new DD V11 LW and I'm not running a magnifier or N.V. What gets me is that SOB Murphy lol. It be mu luck the one time I don't put a Q/D on it that something FUBAR would happen to the optic. So I asking for opinions fellas.

I own a Springfield 1911 TRP Operator (FBI) model with the full length dust cover, A Springfield Champion Operator (Commander size) and a Sig Scorpion in a Officers size. I love the Sig for carry and if I ever contemplated another 1911 it would be a Sig. The Springers are nice but the finish isn't as durable and I sweat a lot and riding a Harley in high humidity = rust lol.
  14. Oh crap you got him going why oh why did you have to mention CMMG? <laughs> First of all welcome Andrew, nice build. To back up Robo here, the 5.56 platform is pretty much all interchangeable kinda like Lego's with the exception of KAC's bolt due to the lug design if I remember correctly. The SR-25 / AR-10 have different bolt stops / catches, Bolts and BCG's thus different barrel extensions, as well a magazines and lower receivers to match the mags. The SR-25 pattern is pretty much every thing but Armalite which now makes 2 models that accept either their proprietary designed magazines or P-Mags. They still operate the same as the AR-15 M-4 rifle length extensions / buffer tubes must have rifle length buffers and springs the same with carbines. The place where it gets tricky is when you put a UBR on a .308 which requires one of Slash's heavy buffers that fit the UBR in .308. So you should be good with the PRS and rifle length buffer and spring. So the Noveske barrels are awesome but in the .308 platform they have the Armalite bolt patterned barrel extensions. So either change the extension, or change bolts and I highly recommend that use change the entire BCG as well. If worse comes to worse call Noveske and describe your build and see what they recommend or call Mega Arms as I hear they have great customer service before you start dropping coin, but I'd bet matching the AR-10 pattern bolt to AR-10 pattern barrel extension will solve your problem. Let us know what you change and if it fixes it,please.
  15. That's when her head goes on my lap <thumbsup>
  16. I may be unpopular for saying this but, I've had negative experiences with the open carry as a uniformed officer. You have those who try to bait law enforcement into a confrontation while,"exercising their rights". Well, some one some where thought it was an issue for what ever reason and called us. We have figure out whats going on and we get the government goons are here to take away my guns and rights yadda yadda and we end up receiving the attitude. All were trying to do is make sure it's not some screw job being stupid. Most people don't think about gun grabs. My duty holster is designed to withstand someone pulling / yanking on it combined with a required series or number of retention steps that I have to complete to pull it. That piece of crab FOBUS / Kydex stuff or nylon Wal-Mart special not so much. Criminals train to take guns away from trained officers, what do you think they will do to you? We are trained in, " weapon retention techniques" used in conjunction with retention holsters, are you? Also how many of us use our weapon hand to grab something off of the shelf no thinking and opening yourself up for gun grab? Trust me a chemically co-dependent person do some crazy schit to get money for their next fix. Finally the active shooter, you just minimized your usefulness because most people's spatial awareness SUCKS and the bad guy has the jump on you, sees your open carry and now you just became his immediate threat and you no longer have the element of surprise. You being able to navigate and get cover / concealment and engage him / her has greatly diminished because they want to take you out first because they know you are a threat to them. While the guy who was carrying concealed lets you be the bait and shoots them. Don't forget people ambush uniformed officers in coffee shops, restaurants and even in cop cars now a days, do you want to be mistaken for an off duty cop? Just a few things to think about.
  17. I wonder if a change in pressure due to the gas port causing a change in muzzle velocity thus affecting POI especially at that distance, But I find it interesting that it would be the last shot and not all of them. Maybe in some way it could also have screwed with your barrel harmonics to throw off that last shot? Those B.A.D. levers are nice I have one on my Spikes but I can live without it.
  18. I forgot to mention that the numbers on your parallax wheel lol are yardage indicators to set the adjustment. So if your shooting at 50 yds. adjust the parallax knob / wheel to 50 yds and so on to minimize parallax.
  19. Parallax is essentially an optical illusion. Parallax presents itself as the apparent movement of the reticle, in relation to the target, when your eye moves off center of the sight picture (exit pupil) or in more extreme cases it appears as an out of focus image. It indicates that the scope is either out of focus or more specifically the image of the target is not occurring on the same focal plane as the reticle. Maximum parallax occurs when your eye is at the very edge of the sight picture (exit pupil). Even when parallax is adjusted for a designated distance, there is an inadvertent error at other distances. Most brands of scopes that do not have a parallax adjustment are pre-set at the factory to be parallax free at or around 100 yards; rim fire and shotgun scopes are set at or around 50 yards. Most scopes of 11x or more have a parallax adjustment because parallax worsens at higher magnifications. Generally speaking parallax adjustment is not required for hunting situations and is primarily a feature used and desired by target shooters. A 4x hunting scope focused for 150 yards has a maximum error of only 8/10ths of an inch at 500 yards. At short distances, the parallax effect does not affect accuracy. Using the same 4x scope at 100 yards, the maximum error is less than 2/10ths of an inch. It is also good to remember that, as long you are sighting straight through the middle of the scope, or close to it, parallax will have virtually no effect on accuracy in a hunting situation. www.opticstalk.com/what-exactly-is-parallax-anyway_topic5026.html
  20. Welcome from S.W. Ohio
  21. We could probably give a class and references as most of us own decent glass. But what specifically are you wanting to know?
  22. Welcome from Ohio. My Dad is from Bangor I loved going up to Maine and eating at the Lobster Shack by the light house as a kid on vacation. I've also been around Kenebunkport and Ongonquit (Sorry about the spelling)
  23. Yes, what do you want to know?
  24. Better than the wrong hole I guess. Don't feel bad after I got it mounted and played around with the scope, I kinda had to get a towel.
  25. I have to be mindful when in uniform about wishing people a Merry Christmas and say Happy Holidays, because of peoples different beliefs. I will get some that tell me it's okay to say Merry Christmas to them and they smile. I wouldn't get bent out of shape for example if someone of the Jewish faith wished me a Happy Hanukkah, it's the thought that the person is kind enough or thinks enough of me to wish me well in their tradition.
