Okay I got the Slash heavy buffer in, now just to decide on BUIS for the PST, I'm thinking of taking the Troy flips from my Spikes and putting them on this and running the MBUS on the Spikes. The proper Magpul Miad grip for the .308 and the Odin extended mag release, then the QD sling swivile for the T.I.S. Sling I'm running. I just have a thread protector on right now and I may or may not throw a mount for a can or a brake, and maybe change out to a lighter rail system like the Apex or Mid West Industries Keymod. I'll post the before and after pics up soon.

I got the Slash Heavy Buffer in the mail and installed, the BCG now functions properly with an empty mag and with the bolt catch. I must say very nice craftmanship now wonder his products come so highly recomended.

Here's one for you, have you ever set a penny,nickle, dime and quarter beside eachother, and notice the penny is the only one facing a different direcion?

if not Primary Arms has the RR NM for under $100 I just bought one. I think between the Armalite NM in my AR-10 and the RRA NM in ny Spikes,I like the Armalite jut a little better.

I would have tired a few more non-lethal i.e. a 40 MM sponge round, or 40 mm gas or tri chamber on him and had the guys wearing gas mask or pepper ball, the issue is wind and open area, gas works much better in a confined space. Gas however would have eliminated the use of a K-9. If he still failed to comply after tazing, gas, bean bag rounds, mace and a flash bang, and nothing else could have been done and he needed to be taken into custody given his violent and mental past history and he made an overt act towards me or another officer, yep. But I still am missing why the LEO's were called is this a park where people walk and hike, or just a business owner who wants the guy off of his property, that reason they were there plays a role. Again until he made an overt act of aggression towards the officers either while approaching or during the hands on arrest, I would have refrained from the use of lethal force, but I again we can Monday morning Q.B. all day. I would think that any SWAT team worth its salt, knowing his background would have came equipped, . If these guys are just primary responders attached to a team then they could have held perimeter until the necessary equipment arrived. We try to maintain a safe distance from anyone with a blunt or forged object. As 98 Z showed in his video, you saw how fast a person can move and close distance to cut your reaction time down. Remember SWAT is special weapons and tactics not the crap the t.v. shows. We have the good toys like the non-lethal and as for me I am happy to bring an issue to a peaceful end if at all possible, good guys go home, bad goes to jail not the morgue unless they made it happen. Okay I am attacking you but I am confused here please help me understand. You have fought people on bath salts , but dont keep stats? I remember every good knock out drag out fight I've ever had as a cop becasue I have a scar or was bruised trying to get them under control, and I learend from it. But your not LEO and train them? What kind of work do do you when you referred to your dept? How have you not been LEO but personally witnessed multiple taser incidents involving mental or drugged subjects? I do agree there are at times only 1 barb hits and obiously it wont work? I am sorry but I have been LEO for going on 10 years and was with County SWAT for 5 before my knee went, by the way I am 6'5'' and 240 and the as dad always told me no matter how big you are or tough or strong you may be, there is always some one out there bigger, tougher and stronger and will stomp a mud hole in your a$$. Now add crazy or chemicals to it and hold on. Training in a controlled atmosphere is one thing being out there when a seires and sequence of events that leed to the inability to use said infailible equiptment or it was made at beer thirty on a Friday is another. I do agree train, train, train. As per the policy and proceedure, every dept. in America is either Accredited or thier policy and proceedures follow very closely. Have you ever had to fight a guy on bath salts? i have my tazer didn't do sh!t to him and for about every good taze I've had, I have had one that didn't work becasue the subject was nuttier than squirrel sh!t in a walnuit tree, off thier meds or so hopped up on drugs they didn't know wether they were coming or going. It also shows how quickly a person can close the distance gap, imagine he had a knife like the guy this thread was started on and much damage he could have inflicted on the officer with the bean bag shotgun. Thus the you pull a knife we pull out duty weapon policy. They hit him with a 12 guage at that distance this guy should have been doubled over in pain orr suffering from a fracture. It's always easy to Monday morning quater back when a person isnt trained, has no real knowledge of the laws and policies, or why things are, and isn't the one out there doing the job that others don't want to do. For those who may not be familiar with a non fragmenting destructive device, as labeled by the BATFE, or as we call them flash bangs heres a little info. They are are about 130-170 decibles when they go off and like 2000 lumen from the flash, I forget the exacts. They are designed to obviously make a really bright light and really loud bang to distract and or disorient, and trust me they work, except in this case. Any person in thier right mind would have dropped those knives and hit the ground and become instantly compliant.

I have the UBR installed tonight, just got to get the propper buffer and spring for it. I also got the ADM Scout mount,and PST 1-4 and AFG. Now I am waiting on magpul grip wedge and noveske ambi safety, in the mail and to figure what set of sights to throw on it, possibly switch out the Troy's on my Spike's and maybe switch to some Magpul's not sure on polymer sights.

A mentally ill person or person on narcotics with two fixed blade knives can do some serious and lethal damage. Every dept. policy and Police Academy teaches if they pull a knife, then you pull a gun period and get distance. Walking up an area like that with a full load out combined with aderiline will make one breath hard, and I think it was the dog you heard more than the officers. I wouldn't let the dog loose on him either with him dual weilding knives he'd kill that dog who is just like a family member and co-worker . Fuk the douche bag reporter K-9s are used as a non-lethal means just like mace, taser, bean bags ect. Trust me non-lethal doesn't allways work, he plays possum, you walk up, get a knife in an artery, out in the desert not good. He was told multiple times to drop the knives and as stated above we dont know his medical or criminal history. At what point is it a good idea to not listen to Police Officers, so if hes being wrongfully arrested, he wont ever have to sleep under a bridge again after he wins the law suit. If you noticed the flash bang barely phased him, that tells me there is something wrong with the guy either mentally or he's on something. So without knowing the entire story, this can be viewed many different ways

Have you guys seen the new Midwest Industries Key Mod rail for the .308 platform? They offer both Armalite and DPMS Patterns, switching from the current quad rail and large locking ring on the barrel nut could reduce some weight and save a good barrel. This time if I switch out rails, its getting torqued down right the first time.

ok, I know the Slash is good stuff but I am only shooting surplus ammo and 168 FGMM, non supressed. I have yet to have issues with cycling or recoil.
