  1. Got my IWB holster from White Hat earlier today. Quite happy with it, and the Sig + Viridian X5-R fit perfectly. Not too sure about the molding around the trigger guard...probably to keep the holster from turning on the taclight/laser while being used.. The entire holster's a little stiff but I suppose I have to break it in before I know if it's a keeper. Also noticed that I may need bigger pants and longer belt if I carry it IWB... <lmao> <laughs>
  2. White Hat IWB holster.

  4. Heh... never understood the 22LR except for practice/training/kids. It's like a peashooter and will simply annoy the perp. <laughs>
  5. Herein lies the problem. These days, lots of qualified "mental institution" cases are being de-institutionalized. Their issues are now being downplayed/underdiagnosed as "severe depression", "acute bipolar disorder" in order to keep them out of the institution. These diagnoses all fall under medical issues and legally covered by HIPAA (no I did not make the rules but had to take an in-depth HIPAA/FERPA certification course). Why? A big factor is that insurance companies do not want to cover the cost of institutionalization - it's expensive and thus hurts their bottom line profits and bonuses. That's why our healthcare system needs severe reform. We should move out of the for-profit mentality when it comes to essential services, like healthcare, utilities, etc. I want to believe that Obamacare is just a first step, but I think the ultimate goal of a single-payer healthcare system should be the ideal. >:D (Ok... now where's my flame suit.....) <lmao> <laughs>
  6. You can blame HIPAA regulations for the failure of the mental health reporting system. Privacy, yes, but there should be a point where that should give way to public safety.
  7. If you get really desperate, you can also use a 30mm scope ring to clamp onto the tube.... LOL Here's the link from Midwest Industries: http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=97
  8. You can always get industrial components like this 1-3/16" clamp collar: http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRIT?PMAKA=327-8418&PMPXNO=22569341&PARTPG=INLMK32 Or a set screw collar: http://www.amazon.com/Climax-Metal-C-118-S-Collar-Stainless/dp/B000P0T24A/ref=sr_1_5?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1402267537&sr=1-5 There's even a quick release version if you want to futz with the length on a regular basis. http://www.ruland.com/ps_collars_shaft_qcl.asp There's also the Troy PGRSA. Not really ideal but it clamps on the buffer tube/castle nut. ....and Midwest Industries has one too, which may be more in line for what you're looking for:
  9. Yes, I know the part about the A1/A2 tube (same tube, just with a spacer) but not aware of what Armalite is doing. I stand corrected. :) Even better, OP; get a heavy buffer.
  10. If it's a standard "A2" buffer tube, use the DPMS style LR0308 buffer. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/913498/dpms-buffer-lr-308-rifle Armalite AR-10 buffer tubes are longer than standard "A2" buffer tubes and use the longer length "standard" AR15 rifle buffer.
  11. Those are bumper stickers. They just add smug to the hippie vehicle, enabling the owner (typically an extreme liberal hippie) and giving him/her a "holier than thou" attitude. I'm talkng about stickers and decals like this! (p.s. I'm guilty of enabling the entire generation of riceboys)
  12. Cutie!!
  13. I ordered one of these White Hat IWBs about a week ago. Pics when I receive it. :)
  14. Take a pic of the bolt catch area and lets have a look. CMMG had installed the wrong bolt catch in my rifle... they did make it right by sending me the right one. This was the wrong bolt catch in my rifle.
  15. No, but the components would be a cheap way to build a supressor. (Hey Tom, *nudge* *nudge*). Remove/cut off one end, drop in some K-baffles and close it back up with an end cap, serialize it and tada. BTW the Wix 24744 is a similar filter. >:D
  16. Protip: Nobody can tell if you're serious or kidding on the interwebz. Smilies work in your favor. :)) :)) :)) :)) :))
  17. There's always the NAPA 4003 fuel filter version of the solvent trap. Its built a lot more robust than an oil filter, and it's tapped for NPT threads on both ends. Simple to drill a hole in a NPT plug on the far end, and the slimmer profile will help with the sighting.
  18. 770+ posts and you haven't figured it out? <lmao>
  19. I really gotta get a chrono.... Any experience with this? http://www.midwayusa.com/product/628777/magnetospeed-v3-ballistic-chronograph?cm_vc=ProductFinding

Dang $80? That's a good price. Fits my cheapass budget.
  21. That's what I was trying to get across. Federal law pre-empts state law... if I didn't have this FFL stuff going on I'd consider it, but as of right now, I don't think it's prudent for me to do it. Might as well be patient and wait for the 07 FFL.
  22. BTW, has anyone here tried IMR4320 ? I did a test load and the rounds were off by 2mils left and 2 mils down versus identical projectile loads with IMR4064 or Varget. Not impressed.
  23. ewwwww armalite. (OK now I gotta hide from our Armalite pusher <laughs> )
  24. Indeed. Real ones too. Like I said - pay to play.
  25. That was just the empty mags on the floor. She hasn't seen the mags of 5.56 and more 308 in my ammo drawer. <lmao> She was complaining that her bras needed replacement and went on a bra shopping spree. You learn pretty quick that 36GG ones cost $$$$$. I guess I gotta pay to play. <laughs>
