  1. Which lowers were you two using?
  2. Their CH looks like the BCM Ambi

  5. Bump
  6. If I wind up having no troubles at all, I'll make up an awful horror story just to make you feel better. No worries ;-)
  7. Lol. Is it a .308?
  8. Thanks for the correction Robo...makes sense
  9. Anyone know how the carbon wrapped barrels fair in this? Do they cool faster? Does the carbon absorb or contain the heat?
  10. SI-defense is also going to be releasing a multi caliber platform that changes barrels called the Exodus. I think it switches from .308 up to 338LM. When they do sell the receivers though, for the set, plus their 300WM sized BCG and mags, that alone will be at least 1K.

  12. OMG. They will be selling parts!
  13. Totally! Looks like 300WM might go the same direction as .308 in the AR: SI-Defense / Nemo = DPMS (Some parts compatible) Miller Precision 300 Guardian = Aramlite (it is compatible with many AR-10 parts) Noreen ("Bad News") = Outlier (like RRA) Given the amount of new .308 receivers....y'never know what might become available!
  14. It's not available yet. But you cab probably count on 4-6k. Hopefully, since more and more of these are coming to market, we might see the prices drop...and maybe even be able to purchase receivers & mags, and build you own!
  15. I think I might wind up getting the LW in .308, and eventually building a second upper (or complete rifle) with a Fulton Criterion in 6.5 Creedmoor.
  16. Yeah, thats what I've heard. I just thought I'd put it out there anyway. Thanks
  17. Just got my M5 upper. It doesn't mate very well with my SI Defense lower. There's too much lateral play, and the rear tang isn't flush. Oh, well. If it fits my friends cmmg, I think he'll by it from me, unless anyone else is interested! :-)
  18. I know that many here have strong feelings about the customer service between these two companies. But that aside, I'm just looking for contrasting opinions on performance. Particularly, accuracy, and any feeding issues. I'm looking to choose between these two: (both are .308) Lothar Walther 18" rifle-length gas system, 1:10 twist, VarTac (heavier profile) .750 gas block, LW-50 steel (comes with NiB matched bolt) or Fulton Armory (by Criterion) 18.5 rifle-length gas system, 1:10 twist (Medium weight) .936 gas block, 410 Stainless (I'd buy and send them my bolt for head-spacing) End of the day, the cost will be about the same, maybe $30 more for the LW. Any input from those that might have experience with both? This will be for longer range precision target shooting (not only benchrest, though) Thanks
  19. Cool relevant article Heublerking: http://rifleshooter.com/2014/12/308-winchester-7-62x51mm-nato-barrel-length-versus-velocity-28-to-16-5/
  20. I think Robocop's got a carbon wrapped barrel if I'm not mistaken
  21. Edge, Do you happen to know what type of contour they used on those barrels? DRD
  22. Here's a thread from another forum: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3792933.0
  23. Very nice. I'm looking at a LW barrel for one of my builds. They have a 16" midlength .308 1:10 that I'm considering. What does the "Vartac" mean? Do you kno the specs of that barrel? I'm curious since i'm also building the "Budget OBR" and know that LaRue used to run LW barrels before they made their own. When I spoke with LW, they weren't willing to discuss the exact specs and contour they used with LaRue, but offered the one I mentioned as an option. Is the vartac what LaRue used? If not, any idea on the OBR barrel specs? Cheers, DRD
  24. Nice! I'm waiting on the upper.
