  1. First set of results: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/07/07/muzzle-brakes-recoil-results-for-6mm-6-5mm/
  2. 6.5CM is getting more and more popular. We're likely to see more manufacturers producing it. I've even heard of some shooters competing with AMax rounds. Luckily it shot real well out of their barrels. One of the hosts of the precision rifle podcast runs a 6.5cm bolt gun with a x-caliber barrel.
  3. I`ve heard some amazing things about these as well. I'm looking into getting one in .308 or 6.5CM.
  4. Lovely. TMI. :-) So how far have taken them out with repeatable accuracy?
  5. Wash, you have 7 ARs in .308?!
  6. Bubba, what's the contour on your barrel? Great stats guys! Now, what's the furthest you've taken it out, and how's accuracy been at your longest distances with those loads?
  7. Who here is getting sub MOA (preferably 0.5 MOA or less) at 100 yards with a .308AR? Is anyone doing it with factory loaded ammo? If so, which brand/load? What are your barrel specs? (Length, twist, gas system length, rifling, fluted or not, chamber type. barrel material, brand) Cheers, DRD
  8. Rest in peace brother
  9. Yeah, I was wondering how many of them were selected as well. I believe the guy doing the Truth About Guns 5.56 Muzzle Brake Shoot Out will be including a few of the same ones in the upcoming Round 3. So, it will be interesting to compare their findings.
  10. Buckle up and grab your popcorn: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/06/24/muzzle-brakes-field-test/
  11. Blue109, Be curious to hear your take Eden you put the VG6 on, as they tested to be a little less effective at lowering recoil than the Miculek
  12. I believe that guy is doing round 3 of testing this August. He'll be comparing the top brakes from the first 2 trials against some others that haven't been included yet. Some of the manufacturers don't make .308, though. Miculek seems the best bang for the buck.
  13. MARKK9, Im not a top shooter, but it would seem that Todd Hodnett abd Bryan Litz would not only disagree with you, but probably wouldn`t have jobs teaching top shooters if that were true.
  14. Got their riggers belt. Solid.
  15. Have you read this? It seems the principles and similar design to a slightly larger .30 cal brake would apply as well: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/04/jeremy-s/ar-15-muzzle-brake-shootout-2/
  16. Well done. Nice looking build
  17. wetncold, I communicated with him as he was beginning that testing last year about the same issue. He said he'd like to, but at this point he's a bit burned out on it and has other projects ahead in the queue.
  18. I run a New Frontier LW-15 polymer lower. Runs like a top, no hiccups. Look into Robar`s PolymAR-15 or Tegra Arms composite lowers too.
  19. Called Sprinco. Looks like I'm just gonna go with the Armalite spring and H3 buffer. If tuning the gas block setting and that combo don't do the trick for ejection angle and recoil, I'll then either try their orange or red spring. They said orange may be too much if I'm running a rifle length gas port. We'll see....
  20. Will do. thanks
  21. Wash, Are you saying that the Vltor A5 H4 will work with a Sprinco Red spring?
  22. So the Vltor A5 H4 wont fit in a VLTOR 6 Position Carbine Receiver Extension Tube or a Leapers-UTG http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/03/16/leapers-introduces-6-position-308-ar-receiver-extension/
  23. Well, I've already got a 7 5/8" tube, and an adj gas block. So, should I use: Armalite EC0120 AR10 Carbine H3 Buffer (5.4oz.) or... Vltor A5 H4 Buffer (6.83oz.)
  24. All other components being equal, would there be any noticeable difference in felt recoil between the two set ups?
