Supposedly LaRue seems to have the most accounts of amazing performance and reliability. I think a few people here have one. It's quite a wait to get one though, I hear. Ammo will just depend on that particular rifle. Tangent....I heard an interview with Paul Leitner-Wise (Leitner-Wise is the "LW" in "LWRC) http://www.leitner-wise.com/ They are working on a lightweight .308 AR with proprietary receivers that will be smaller than the G2, accept SR-25/DPMS pattern mags, PMags, etc, and use mostly AR15 milspec components.

I've got that optic on a .22lr bolt gun. Works great for that. Terrible eye relief. But for $159, it's awesome. Faxon is a tool and machining company that's been around for 30+ years. They make a lot of precision aerospace stuff, and have been making OEM barrels for other companies for a while. They also make some of the lightest barrels out there.
