My issue here is that PSA is going to screw someone over, because they will think that they are buying AR10 parts. Then said person will go around complaining about how ar308s are to proprietary and don't work and this that and the other. It is bad for the whole industry. What is good for the industry is companies responsibly labeling their own crap! I don't care what people say, but the manufactures themselves should get their crap together, you know!? Why wouldn't they properly label their own products?
-
Yeah, I was going to contact the company about the ar10/ sr25 deal, but it looks like they are out of business. If the ammo was still going to be produced I would buy one. What a shame The ammo used to be $3 a round. It is probably $1 a round now because it is getting blown out, and once it is gone it is gone.
-
Hhhmmm... I read that Remington had committed to starting to manufacture the ammo... but I guess that might take quite some time. I am kinda shocked that the piston driven upper with nice fit and finish and a monolithic bcg is $300...
-
Yeah! They call their products "Pa10", but they list it on their website in the "Ar10" section, and they don't give any information on what it will or will not fit because it is "proprietary" I think that I need to contact Armalite... but an email from a few good people here would help to! Or a phone call. And can you believe that I waited like 15 minutes on hold for all of that! I used to think highly of the company based on my friends opinion of them. Now it will take some serious turning around before I even mention their name without being irritated. Second rate stuff right there! I feel like Tom could handle this situation best though! Get em! lol

Ok, so here is the situation. I believe that for the 308ar community to thrive, we need to have clear, concise information, and that has to start with manufactures. In posting the Ras 12 above, which says that it fits an AR10 lower, which it doesn't (dpms pattern, sr25), someone mentioned that their Palmetto state armory AR10 lower fit it perfectly. How could this be, Palmetto State armory doesn't make Armalite platform parts... Right!? So I called their customer service to try to clarify exactly what pattern their stuff does fit. Of course he gives me "our 308ar platform is proprietary, and doesn't fit anyone else's stuff" Ok, that would be fair, you don't want to be held liable for when people mix and match upper and lower brands and it doesn't work. So... Then why call it an AR10 platform? So I say to the man "that is all fine and dandy, but you do realize that the AR10 designation is only for Armalite pattern rifles, right" The guy says "no, our parts don't fit armalite platform rifles" My reply was "... Right... That is the problem... If it is proprietary (which it isn't), then you can't call it an AR10, because it isn't an AR10..." The guy says "sir, not I, nor anyone else here can tell you what manufactures our AR10 platform will work with" (very rudely) I say "right, because you don't make an AR10, only armalite does, anything else is an Ar308" He says "Whatever, is there anything else that I can help you with!?" I say "no" and hang up. Alright, so here is my hang up. I want to share this platform that I love with the world. I'm an Ar308 fanboy, but of course I can respect the AR10 guys ;-). The problem is that we have what can be a confusing market, and how can we expect people to understand, if the manufactures don't even tell their customer service guys what is going on, and they are missing advertising and misinforming on their own products!? So I feel like we need to contact them in mass, have them specify exactly what they are selling, and market it properly. Or just incessantly bother them for being d bags for having rude customer service. (I SWEAR that he was rude first! I was polite in tone right until I hung up... Now I'm pissed)

Let me know what you think guys! If Remington really is going to start producing the ammo, I will be VERY excited! I hope more manufactures pick the ammo up! Imagine the possibilities... http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/01/19/gun-review-intrepid-tactical-solutions-ras-12-shotgun/ http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/product/711012853/redirect And the upper is around $300!? WUT!?

It has been way to long since I have done a giveaway for the group. So, whoever gives me the best idea of what to do for a sling giveaway will win a sling. So... Let me know what you Think!

I have gen iii 25s that drop out fine. I have a few boxes of m118 and I never thought that mags might not work with them...

Well you guys are are a lot smarter than me. I have know that I need to get off Facebook for years and I am still there. That is real stupidity lol To know and ignore.

Idk if this type of thread is allowed but... I just joined two groups on Fb, primary and secondary, and novice and secondary. What a giant conglomeration of retards, Circle jerkers, and cut juzzlers! They said that Windham weaponry sucks, and their subject matter expert armorers said that a guy brought one in that wouldn't run for crap, and that it had a 308 receiver extention... What a flippin group of tool bags! And every time they disagree they tag their buddy, the "sme" who just says something stupid, and uses his other buddy, another "sme" to back him up... I have almost never seen a fact on the page from a reputable source... Just circle jerkers. Anyone else on these pages or experienced this Ar foolishness?

Lol I don't know. I avoid places like that. NY was bad enough for me...

How do you prefer to attach your two point?

Yeah I have em, and I can use them on my sling design also. I just prefer the buckles because quick release is an option. I have a bunch of made is USA h&k style clips as well. -

I still have those adjustable buckles. Quite a few of them actually. Maybe a new sling model is in order... Hhmmm -

Rob I hope you didn't take this post as me trying to know you, or as offensive. I guess I missed that part of the feedback. For some reason I didn't remember getting a reply as to why you did it. Surely that was my fault. With that being said, is the general consensus that I should offer two different lengths of sling, one for each rear attachment point style? -
I don't necessarily have... "issues" with the magazines. It just seems that a lot of the time I don't so much get an in depth review as I get a long list of expensive items. For instance, the gii had the cover of the magazine, and they talked about what they did with it, but went only into light details on how it performed. I like all of the stuff in the magazine, but I find myself wanting more in depth articles is all.

Haha I would love to get an SBR! But for my only 308 Ar I feel that 16" is about as short as I want to go for versatility :-D

Blue, I designed my slings to work in exactly the manner that you described. Shepp, do you see a benefit to running from the front to the one point position as apposed to the buttstock? I think some in depth testing is going to be called for on my part -
I know that everyone and everywhere (and every barrel) is going to be different, but what would you expect to pay for something like this?
-
So, in a recent RECOIL magazine that I picked up at the airport (I am personally not a fan of the magazine), they did a build on a DPMS GII Recon, where they did almost EXACTLY what I have done to mine, and after turning the barrel down the rifle weighed 6.8lbs! I am in the process of looking for a local gun smith who will trade work for work right now. Hopefully someone willing to take a rifle sling or two and maybe some chainsaw work or something... I haven't posted about my recon in a long time, because I haven't shot my recon in a long time. But I plan on changing that as much as I can shortly. And I plan on continuing the mods, probably with an adjustable gas block, and probably followed by a rifle length extension and maybe an Ace stock. And of course a bit of Cerakote eventually ;-)

Hey guys, as most everybody probably knows, I make slings! I haven't been around in awhile because I have been above my eyeballs doing all kinds of stuff, but now I am back in it! (for the time being) Anyways, I have seen a few people have issues with how I designed my sling to be worn. The slings are designed to be attached at the front and rear of the firearm, the buttstock and the front of the grip or rail, whichever you run. I have now had two accounts of difficulty using the sling where the person using the sling attached the sling at the front of the firearm, and to a one point sling point near the rear grip. This seemed crazy to me! Then I picked up a RECOIL magazine and saw that a lot of people were doing that... so maybe I am behind the power curve a bit! So, how do you attach your two point, and do you think that it would be a good idea to offer two different lengths of sling? I am wondering how I would advertise and specify the two different lengths. Any ideas would be appreciated!
